Kudos to Thad Matta. I don't care how good your recruiting class is, to lose the National POY and be an even better team requires great coaching.

1 championship down, 2 more to go.

We now have four threads for this, but this was the first one created, so I'll comment on it.

This takes the pressure off tomorrow's game against Wisconsin, but I'd hate to see the Buckeyes lose in front of a home crowd and "back into" a Big 10 championship.

Go Bucks!

Pretty amazing that the best team in the country had a chance to not even win their own conference. It just goes to show you how tough the Big Ten is this year, and the other conferences will find this out come tournament time.

They already clinched a share...they had zero chance of losing the Big 11 championship even if they lose tomorrow.

That would be crazy. The best team in the country is tied with another school for their conference championship. No doubt in my mind, the Big 10 is the best conference in the country THIS YEAR.

Purdue was ranked 6th you f'ing retard. You act like if Purdue would have tied OSU it would have been like tying with Murray State.

Lol at the big ten being the best conference. Losing to Iowa is like losing to south Florida or depaul.

When you clinch before your final game it's not backing in. Backing in would be losing, then watching Purdue blow a chance to clinch a few hours later, giving us a share. When we had already clinched a share you can't back into anything.

However, it would be terrible to lose this game for the seniors, especially for Lighty and Deibler and the careers they've had.

South Florida has 1 decent win all year and DePaul has none. Iowa is a much better team than either of them.

No they aren't. They are all beyond terrible. You are biased and think the Big 10 is better is all it comes down to.

Saying Iowa is better than South Florida and DePaul isn't saying much. 5 of us could go out and stomp the fuck out of DePaul.

After what Syracuse did to them today you could argue they be kicked out of the conference.

I'm glad I don't rely on this site for my CBB information. On one thread, I read how bad the B1G is. In this thread, it's the best conference of all.

Big Ten is #2 conference behind the Big East. But again, when you have 16 teams in one conference compared to 11...you should be the best. The percentages are going to be with you.

Would it more fair to compare the Big 10 to the Big East excluding the BE teams that joined from C-USA? That would give each league 11 teams each.

South Florida and DePaul are so much worse than any Big Ten team, and they add 2-4 wins to each Big East team's record. Then you have your bad teams like Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Providence that are comparable to Indiana and Iowa. That is a lot of games to inflate teams records and make it look like the Big East is some monster conference. The Big East has a lot of very good teams, but they have also have a lot of bad teams which means you will have a lot of teams with a lot of wins. Hell, Minnesota and Northwestern would be NCAA tournament teams if they got to play 6-8 games against the likes of DePaul, South Florida, Providence, etc.
