Seems like every big game they were in went to overtime.ccrunner609;711138 wrote:Man they must of won every game in overtime
As for Webber, this was his chance to tell his side of the story but didn't.

I really liked it. I was only 5-6 when this was all going on, so I obviously don't remember it.
ESPN has done some really great things with their documentaries.

That was an amazing documentary. Just got finished watching it. The Fab Five changed college basketball, no way around the fact.

Did you see the graph indicating sales of Michigan goods pre and post Fab 5??? It is no wonder athletes feel entitled to a little cash here and there. They earned it.

they were great for the time period, they didn't do shit though. Freshman or not, when you talk that much shit and don't produce any rings then you are not "fab", you are overrated thugs

They more than that. Jalen Rose said it perfect. People still remember their 5 names, even though they lost. They are the most famous national runners up ever.
They also started 5 freshman and went to the final game twice. No team had ever, nor has since done that. They may not have won, but they changed basketball. Not even with their style. It was everything.
BTW, that team and Fisher did have rings...Just not all of them haha.

ok, well without the TO, they may win. It happened, you cant take it away.
They would still be remembered without that though. They became extremely famous and made headlines all over the place as Freshman. The timeout came when they were Sophomores. Back to back finals is nothing to scoff at.

Not many teams that never win a tittle will get documentary's like this one. They meant something plan and simple and it was a great piece IMO

The only thing that resembles this in any way is the UK team from last year with the 4 star freshmen, and they only made to the elite 8.

Actually doing it now would mean less because the level of college basketball is way down in the one and done era.

They changed the college landscape, not the game itself, IMO! Culturally they opened peoples eyes on a national stage to a way of life the majority of this country had or never would see. My favorite parts were the non bball clips, especially their trip to Europe! They were just kids, you could see how they acted, complaining about being in Europe! lol

I'm just being a dick here, so don't take this too serious...but yeah, lets praise these kids for starting the "everyone is making money off us, so lets get paid too" revelation

Awesome documentary! IMO, the best 30 for 30, running away.
When they showed the graph of merchandise sales, it really made me say, "Wow". The discussion about paying college athletes is for a different thread, but those numbers were powerful.
As for the Fab 5 not accomplishing anything, that's crap. They accomplished a lot, and did it in a way that was appealing. No one expected them to play for back to back National Championships, especially in that age when college basketball was about senior laden teams.
The most impressive thing about the documentary was how well spoken they all were. With Webber and Rose doing work as analysts, we've all heard them before. But all five of them seemed to be pretty bright. And Jalen Rose was awesome in it!
Also very insightful into the whole dealings with the booster. Jalen Rose and Mitch Albom provided good insight and it's interesting how Rose was really upset with Webber for how he portrayed the booster.

^^^sorry, but IMO the Marcus Dupree 30 for 30 was better....and remember, what the Fab Five did in two years took tsun twenty years to undo--they're finally getting back to national prominence.

Great show last night.............Jalen Rose was about as honest as anyone could be. It's funny if Chris Jent makes that little baseline jumper we really aren't even talking about the Fab 5. Call those kids punks, thugs or whatever but they did change the culture.

Well, your admittedly biased...
As for the twenty years to undeo stuff....BS. It was a shot to them, but it shouldnt ever take a program that long, no matter how bad it was.

Watched for about 5 minutes.
They really didnt like Duke did they?
I was never a Duke fan. Coach K I can stand because he is a disciple of The General. When the michigan players were talking of Duke it wreaked of jealousy. It was quite pathetic. If you asked me my opinion of Duke prior to taht piece I woulda said I didnt like them much, but after hearing those remarks, I dont know, it kinda changed my opinion I guess. When someone shows outward jealousy and ignorance toward something else it usually pushes me to the other side so now I kinda side with Duke! and this is coming from a guy who my brother and hung a Laetnner dummy in effigy back in teh day!
Fab 5....your comments made you look sooooo pathetically jealous

I watched the first hour before passing out. I thought it was entertaining. I had no idea that Chris Webber was such a beast.
