But the Fab Five didn't introduce swagger to the college ranks. Not even close. No, that was Grandma-ma himself, Larry Johnson, and the 1990 and 1991 Vegas clubs. Talk about in your face. Those Runnin' Rebel teams weren't egomaniacs, as someone termed them earlier in this thread. They were public enemies. Those teams were so intimidating, nasty and dangerous, it was almost criminal to allow them to take the floor against anybody.

Nah what made the NBA crappy was the lack of talent and emphasis on "team ball". Too many teams started trying to win with a collection of very good players and the talent in the 90s and early 2000s isn't nearly as good as what we're seeing now. The game is much more like it was in the 80s nowadays and the game is much better

Loved Jim Nantz comment yesterday during the OSU/UM game when they brought up the Fab 5 and this show..."they also destroyed the Michigan basketball program and should be remembered for that as well". lol Something many people fail to remember I guess. Not sure there is another sports team ever recognized as much as they are after the HUGE scandal and cheating that went on. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Saw a tweet today about how the Fab 5 is looked upon as one of the all time greats, yet the back to back Florida team is hardly remembered, I thought that was a good point.

They did change college basketball but the biggest thing that people remember them by was their cheating. I would be willing to bet if you randomly asked individuals about the fab5 the first thing they would say is that they got caught excepting money from boosters. Number 2 would probably be Weber's timeout that cost them a technical. Without those 2 things(assuming they don't win a championship) they would be looked at as a very good team but not nearly as remembered.
