If you lived in Columbus that used to be Plain City, Delaware, Pataskala,New Albany, and Canal Winchester.

I've pretty much been a suburbs guy most of my life living around Dayton. Growing up I lived south of town in Kettering. Later I moved north of town to a Tipp City address that was "in the country" but close enough to the airport that we would have Air Show pool parties in the summer. I'll never forget being out on the lawn tractor cutting the 10 acres and being buzzed by the B-1 bomber coming in to be at the show. Had another place, about 12 acres, further away. Now I live more in town but still north of Dayton away from the craziness south of town. Plans are to soon end up in Florida near the beaches away from the crowds.

I'll take small town over city life. There are plenty of places to be close enough to get to but far enough away to enjoy.

Back to the OP, I wouldn't be happy at all about LaRosa's moving in. They crap is vile. I'd rather eat skyline everyday for the rest of my life.

That's how we currently live. Mogadore is a town of about 3,800 but is about 20 minutes from downtown Akron. Obviously not a huge city but there is plenty to do. When I was growing up the closest "big" city was Mansfield. It took us 30-35 minutes to get there but there is not nearly as much to do there as there is in Akron. We have a zoo, the Aeros, concerts, etc. It's also only about 45 minutes to an hour from downtown Cleveland depending on traffic. Makes Browns games a lot easier since it was almost 2 hours away before.

Yah man, LaRosa's and Montgomery Inn are supposedly Cincinnati staples but they are just awful. I do like Skyline but can't stand the other two.

It's funny, whenever a fast food restaurant opens up in Brooklyn Heights, the neighbors piss and moan about ruining the historical neighborhood. Some Denver chain called Spicy Pickle opened up 2 years ago, the neighbors bitched, and now its long gone. The only chain we have within a 10 block radius is Subway, which is always empty, and a bakery called Crumbs which is popular here in New York.

Less than Carroll or Amanda, but not quite Canal Winchester or Pickerington, either. Very similar to Jackson actually.

Towns I've lived in and their current populations:

Woodbury, MN: 55,000
Mechanicsburg, PA: 9,000
Dublin, OH: 39,000
Madison, WI: 236,000
Minneapolis, MN: 385,000
Boston, MA: 645,000
Chicago, IL: 2,700,000

The only places I can move to continue my trend would be LA or New York. That said, I am decidedly not small town. I don't dislike smaller towns - enjoy visiting them and spending a week or two - but I really like city living at this stage in my life.

Sorry the htread title made people think I lived in a 4 person village........but Jackson is a city.....I always thought under 2000 was considered a village. Whatever the case.....LaRosa's/BDubs combo...in the same building....big stuff to me!

SE Alum.....the girl I carpool/teach with works at Jerry's Jamestown and I've known Jerry for 25+ years...even worked for him at Big Bear 21 years ago.

FAB......who is your great uncle?

That is how I feel right now as well. Fast paced is good for the time being.

My plan is to do this somewhere on the south end of C-Bus. It would be nice to be able to do something in the city without having to plan the whole day around it.
