Also, Ironman isn't there a Mexican restaurant in the old Colonial building? How is it?

I don't know if there is a Mexican restaurant there but I do believe I've had some drinks at a bar/restaurant called The Colonial.

I was born and lived the first eighteen years of my life in small towns. The last twenty have been spent in the bigger cities. Honestly, I envy my relatives who still live in a small town. If it were not for a great job and my wife's preference I would be back to the simple life in a heartbeat. I try and spend a good week or so back there every year and love every minute of it.

Yeah...the old ritzy Colonial restaraunt has been closed and opened by about 5 different people and now the Toro Loco people have opened up another Mexican Restaraunt in the Colonial building.

also have 1 full Subway....1/2 in the Walmart and 1/2 in a BP station...total of 2 I guess

Is that a small town pre-requisite? Our Colonial has been shut down and opened several times as well. It's now a Bar & Grill or something like that.

Loved growing up in a small town. Plymouth, OH...population around 1800. I graduated with 51 other people and had an amazing time.

No fast food...but there is one pizza place called JJ's and it's the GOAT.


I have family that lived in Jackson. My great Uncle was the football coach for many years.

I've never understood why, but for as small a town we are (around 2,000), i'm pretty sure we have more pizza places than anyone else. I believe we have 5 or 6.

I honestly dont think I couldve survived not being in a city.

I know in theory I obviously wouldve, but knowing what I know...thank God I never had to.

Having lived in both, I am certain it is easier to go from living in a small town to the big city, than being raised in the city all your life and moving to a really small town.

That being said, if you were born in a small town you would be a different person than you are today. Same for the guy from the small town if he was born in a big city.

Same here, though I haven't been in the city for quite 20 years. I'm still working on talking my wife into small town life but she's resisting so far.

6500? That's about 20x larger than Toboso. Big city. :)

My plan when I decide to settle is to find a place w/ small town life within' a half-hour of the big city.

Im sure it is that way for most. Im not ragging on small life. I go to my cottage in Grayling Michigan for a month at a time (when I could). Just, knowing my likes and the times I had in HS, which for the most part werent available in small towns, I would never switch it. Im sure people feel the same way as I do and vice-versa.

Probably, and Im sure I would have ended up loving the small town. But from the outside perspective, I couldnt do it. Again, not a shot to small town folks, but I just love the city (and I actually dont enjoy the ultra-big city, like NYC or Chicago for more than a visit). But I do love having everything you need available so to speak.

That's the ideal scenario IMO I would love to live like a country boy most of the time, but if I need to go to hit up a big retailer or grab a fine meal I like to have a short drive and not have to travel three hours roundtrip. Plus, don't get me started on the quality of healthcare...

My grandma agrees with you. I have had pizza from there a few times that I can recall(probably had it as a kid a bunch of times) and I do like it a lot.

Logan doesnt seem small town to me. Anything with a Walmart and more than 2 fast food places seems more than small town. That could just be me though. I lived in the "big town"(McConnelsville) in Morgan County for 24 years and we still dont have anything more than McDonald's and Subway.

Now that I live in Toledo and have for 5 years, I still go through culture shock at times.

I've been wanting a BW3s in Jackson forever! LaRosa's is pretty awesome too, so I'm definitely a fan of that combo.
