QFT

Hightower is the worst of the two....but both shouldnt be officiating major college bball.

As for the game, Lighty was awful, but why did they quit pounding it inside to Sully? Purdue had no answer for him...instead, they just kept chucking up jumpshots.

The difference a game makes when the motivation for revenge is at a peak. Sometimes, a lot. And it was at its peak today inside Mackey. Hellen Keller could have seen this coming.

Honestly, that all seems pretty reasonable, if you ask me.

What seems reasonable? The fact that OSU went down or that fact that Sully should expect better from fans?

I would expect a tough go at Purdue.

OSU better hope they don't see Jimmer. They have proven in their two losses that one man can beat them.

I meant I think it's reasonable that particular OSU fan would call Sullinger a "fuck" for not playing well enough to win today. And by reasonable I mean completely ridiculous.

As for the Duke-Virginia flashback, that was just for those that thought this game wouldn't be seen as a revenge match for Purdue/or that since OSU won big the first time, the same result would happen the second time. There were a lot of Buckeye fans taking this stance, it seemed. (Not just here, but in real life, too.) Purdue got absolutely embarrassed in Columbus. Of course the Boilermakers were going to come out and play the way they did.

No way, Jimmer is a one man show, they concentrate on him they're done.

Sully did as well as could be expected. Over average and near prefect (if not) perfect from the line. Silly, I know. Bottom line for this game was two early fouls for Buford, he never was able to get in a rhythm after that, would have made a difference imo.

I like the Bucks chances over any Big 10 team on a neutral court.

I would agree that the quick foul trouble on Buford definitely cost the Buckeyes early in the way of simply not being able to get into that flow that any team needs to get in early in a tough road arena. After Purdue was able to get hot from outside, the game took a major shift in momentum. The kind of momentum shift that you knew was staying in Purdue's favor until the final clock read zeros.

Yeah, I don't expect a team to not get hot at home, especially during a conference match-up. I expected a different Purdue team than we played a couple weeks ago.

Purdue didn't get hot, Moore got hot. He beat the Bucks by himself.

I know this is an exaggerated statement, but it's as close to a description as to what happened as I have seen--he was unreal

Pretty sure Ironman was being extremely sarcastic.

Because I got a good laugh out of his sarcasm.

As I've said on other OSU threads, if the refs call it even a little bit close in the paint there's no way the Buckeyes lose. Unfortunately, it was close calls outside the paint (2 on Buford) which hurt us the most today. Losing Buford for most of the 1st half really took away a major part of our offense.

Another thing which has really been bothering me lately is the seeming inability of OSU to guard the pick and roll.

All that said, though, I'm not giving up on this team just because of two losses to teams which played flawless basketball in must-win situations. We still get a payback with Wisky in the final regular-season game and then we can concentrate on neutral floors the rest of the way to Houston.

Wasnt Moore like 7/10. I mean he had HALF the teams points. Did anyone else even hit a 3...and he was hitting some tough threes, his teammates were missing some wide-open shots.

I luv Craft as much as anyone. But is turning the ball over WAYYY too much lately. Today he had 1 asst. and 6 turnovers. Your PG cannot have that many to and expect to be successful. Turner was turnover prone as well, but he would make up for it with with rebounding and asst. Craft and OSU cannot overcome a 1 to 6 ratio.

And your point is? OSU is the least fouling team in the country this year, and was last year. Its something Matta preaches. And I can tell you, as a season ticket holder who isn't far from the court.....Sullinger is getting mauled on a regular basis with rarely any calls. I am not saying that was the reason OSU lost today. But on the season, I have seen it first hand game in, and game out.

The st louis guy said if the refs called the game better, OSU would have won. I pointed out they shot 29 free throws, and Purdue shot 18. OSU didn't lose this game because of the refs (don't be "that fanbase" who does that shit, don't stoop to that level), they lost because of E'Twaun.

Ughh I know how you feel on that...Tyshawn Taylor has an aaaaawwwwwwwwffuulll assist to TO ratio, it drives me absolutely nuts. The guy shoots too much and turns it over too much. You cannot go far in the tourney with a poor PG.
