The NBA thread has been pretty solid so we might as well have one for baseball season. Art Modell will probably start threads for Pirates discussion daily, so for fans of every other team or baseball fans in general can have a place to talk about baseball.

If they don't reach an agreement by Wednesday that just means he won't talk about it again until after the season, right?

Yeah but I think if the Cards don't pony up now, he will likely head elsewhere after the season. At least that's what most of the "experts" think. I think he has also said that he will waive a trade to any team during the season.

Orange tents were added behind the right field fence at the Braves complex to protect cars from Jason Heyward. Last year he did some damage to a couple of the Braves brass' cars.

Hopefully they don't and it leads to a very distracting season.

No, Capone will only start threads about Cleveland and only post in Cleveland threads.

Capone has been MIA since the Super Bowl. I don't expect him back for a long, long time.

I expect a repeat win of the NL Central for the Red Legs.

It will be tougher. I think the Brewers are going to be tough with their additions to their pitching staff. It seems like when good AL pitchers make the transition to the NL, they start to dominate.

No way! I heard Adam Miller might actually be healthy enough to pitch in spring training this year before he breaks his thumb again and is IRed for the whole season.

Not really, but it won't be hard to figure it out if he starts posting with a new name.

To clear what you said up. He has a no trade clause and many times players waive their no trade clauses, allowing them to be traded. Pujols has said he will not waive his no trade clause and accept a trade to any other teams. In other words, he will reject a trade to any team during the season, not waive a trade.

Pujols is the best player in the game now and has been for years, but he isn't going to be the best player in the game in 6, 8, 10 years. If I'm the Cardinals there's no way I even consider paying him upwards of $30 mil a season until he's 40.

Yeah. You just have to keep track of whether any new accounts have a bunch of posts that can be summarized as "BLAH BLAH BLAH Cleveland sux BLAH BLAH BLAH hahahaaaaa".

More like "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA." He's like the "anti-Shelbucks" (ex. "SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$#####????ROFLMAO"...except he hates Cleveland sports where shel was a fan). Capone is more retarded though.

I bet he's a good 2 or 3 years older than he says he is, too.

Yeah that's what I meant just worded it poorly. He will veto any trade by not waiving the no trade clause.

I agree with this. For comparison, how old was ARod when he signed his huge deal with Texas? He was much younger than 30 wasn't he?

ARod was, I think, 24 or 25 when he signed that deal w/ Texas. Much younger.

And I agree, if the Cards give Pujols $30 mil for 10 years, they're idiots. If it's a 6 or 7 year deal, that's much more plausible.
