All 4 CYA candidates make a push in the NL in their latest starts.
Kershaw (18-5; 2.36 ERA) tonight went 8 IP beating Lincecum 2-1. 0 ER, 9 Ks.
Kennedy (19-4; 2.90 ERA) went 7.2 and got his 19th with 11 Ks.
Lee (16-7; 2.47 ERA) with a CG SHO and 6 Ks
Halladay (17-5; 2.44) went 8 IP tonight surrendering 1 ER with 9 Ks beating Milwaukee @ Milwaukee.
This is one of the better races we have had in awhile.

Magic number to win the NL East is down to 7.

Really can't stand how the Brewers play. They act like a high school softball team. Play the fucking game.

Rick Ankiel....again
Why teams, runners and 3rd base coaches continue running on Ankiel and Jeff Francoeur. Tonight Jose Reyes hit a single 20 hopper just left of the 2nd base bag and being 2 outs Josh Thole was running full go on contact and Ankiel...like Francoeur just keeps throwing cannon shots to embarrass runners and the runners just keep looking to where the throw came from and shaking their heads....just like Thole did.

The Astros are killing me.
5-1 win last night. Now up 5-1 again. Damn this is a let down.

UGGLA sets his career high with his 34th home run. Need a ninth inning rally from the Buccos.

The Phillies are the first team to clinch a playoff berth this year. Doc threw another complete game as the Phillies avoid the sweep and win 1-0. The Magic number is down to 4.

Big series in Philadelphia this weekend. Will Philly start to get some of their regulars a little rest or do the right thing and play to win games?

The way it sounds is Charlie will play his regulars until home field is clinched. Chase should be the only one given some rest because of the hamstring.

Jesus. Clayton Kershaw just got tossed for hitting Para in the elbow. Parra had the only hit off Kershaw, who had 5 SHO innings with 5 Ks pitched. What a ridiculous decision by the umpire. Not sure who it was. It did stem from yesterday, but it was still ridiculous. Clearly not trying to hit him and no warnings had been issued.

I would have tossed him to. It all started last night.
