I seriously wonder if Sosa ever makes it to 300 HR if clean the whole time....for a hitter....Sosa benefitted more than any other player.

Clemens for the pitcher.

David Wright with a filthy fake out.

Catches the ball on a dive towards the line. Pops up and fakes the throw to first. Cameron Maybin ducks and rounds 3rd thinking the ball has been thrown as he watched what Wright had to do just to stop it coming from second. Wright then runs in and tags out Maybin who is scrambling to get back to 3rd for the 3rd out of the inning.

Granderson just hit his 10th triple. I believe he is the first Yankee to go 30 HR, 20 steals, 20 2B, and 10 3B in a season.

He is also at about 110 runs and very near 100 RBI.....his year end stats might make it impossible to choose anyone else for MVP....and that's really saying something.

He projects out to about

44 HR
129 RBI
140 Runs
30 Doubles
13 Triples
30 Stolen Bases

Quite frankly with those first 3 stats and then 30 SB....playoff team and good defense.....I couldn't go against him.

I didnt think it was gonna be possible (mainly cause I didnt think Granderson would keep it up) for Gonzalez to be passed. But Id have to go Granderson right now as well.

Gonzalez
Ellsbury
Bautista
Asdrubal/Young/Konerko

Probably round out my top 5.

BTW, all the talk on Jeter being way down (with good reason), he is up to .290 average. Pretty remarkable.

Braves beat Lincecum 1-0 on a Jones HR. Craig Kimbrel continues to be filthy.

Real shaky early, I think he was at 50 pitches thru 2, but he did settle down. Helps that the Giants are sending out a AA lineup.

And I think tonight was the 9th time this year that Lincecum has had ZERO run support. That is ridiculous.
