Easily thousands. people watched the launch. where did the fake launch land? The idea that a fake would be beneficial is ridiculous. the incredibly high risk if being exposed would far outweigh any benefits. can people not think this through logically? After a while some questions are stupid.

NONE of the conspiracy theories say that we didnt go into space man..its about landing on the moon, not going into space.

You mean none of the conspiracies you are acknowledging, of course there are people who think the whole thing was faked. Does that sound nuts? Most people think all of the conspiracy theories are nuts.

well obviously something like that claiming there was never even a launch is going to sound nuts, and is the reason ridiculous claims like that hold little water. Truth of it is, none of us know what happened once the shuttle was in space. We only know what NASA told us. Im not saying that watching a couple videos has changed what I have thought to be truth all of my life, but it is some interesting stuff for sure.

By the way, the flag is easy to explain. It gets momentum when the guy moves it/plants it and in a vacuum there is no air resistance for it to settle down, and with much less gravity it would also take time to settle to a standstill that way. That would have to be the dumbest part of a fake, since if it was faked it would have been inside a soundstage where there's no wind.
But of course we landed on the moon.
I remember watching this as well. They hooked up a guy to a cable and put these spring boots on him to simulate jumping on the moon and the odd way someone stood up after falling down. They also did something with dropping a hammer and some other object. It was interesting.
Conspiracy theories like this, 9/11, JFK Assassination, the thing with concentration camps here in the U.S. being set up by the government... are all fun to talk about and makes life a little more exciting.

People who believe in conspiracies, especially the moon landing, are idiots. Plain and simple. I don't care how smart you think you are, if you believe this crap you're a moron. Does anyone honestly think that IF the government somehow managed to fake the moon landing and keep it a secret, that the Russians wouldn't find out and tell everyone? Are the Russians supposed to be in on the conspiracy too? We were racing them to land on the moon, you think the news that the Americans faked their landing wouldn't be shouted from the rooftops?

are you serious? you think we would tell Russia we faked the landing? BTW, Russia gave up trying to get to the moon because of powerful radiation waves (cant remember what they're called, Van something). But none of the astronauts that supposedly went to the moon have ever had any effects from it.

No, I'm saying you think the Russians wouldn't know? Somehow, the American government is keeping this secret from the entire world?

well seeing that we were in a race with them, i think that we would do everything in our power to keep them from knowing.

Uh huh, some dude running a website can find out all government secrets, but somehow the Russian government wouldn't have a clue. You're giving the government way way way more credit than they deserve. There is absolutely 0% that this was faked. There is no way that the hundreds of thousands of people involved all stayed completely silent for over 40 plus years. Not going to happen.

Pretty sure some lackey or desk jockey at NASA would try to find someone who would pay for that information. I can think of a LOT of people who would spill those beans for a cool $5Mil.
Bottom line, the speculation might be interesting, in that it can even be formulated, but beyond that, it's laughable to suggest that someone who isn't even privy to all the data somehow "figured it out." Niel, Buzz, and the gang landed on the moon. As much as we like to romanticize conspiracy theories, the truth is, they are almost always fallacious and problematic ... and certainly not true. The End.

Anyone who believes that after the passage of all these years, with the sheer numbers of people involved in America's space program, with the generations of loose lipped morons who run our Federal government, and with the measures the Soviets/Russians use and have used to keep tabs on our internal affairs that our own government faked the moon landings is a fool. Nothing personal.

Again.... horrendous argument / attempt at "proving" we landed on the moon. People trying to argue we did is truly quite laughable sometimes. Again... I'm not saying we didn't, I'm just trying to hear something more than "you're an idiot if you don't believe we landed on the moon." Such a fallible argument.

For as hard as the Russians would try to find out we faked it, don't you think the US would equally try as hard [if not harder] to keep it under wraps? Again... #dumb

How hard? You mean thousands of people involved? Dumb is the right word, these moronic theories collapse under their own weight. For every counterargument the hole is dug deeper.

Someone brought up the fact that the US government would have had to keep thousands of people silent. Your reply was what I quoted. I just don't understand how calling it a conspiracy theory explains away how the government was able to silence everyone who would have known it was a hoax (which would have been a LOT). If the US government had the aptitude for doing that successfully, I highly doubt "deep throat" would have been able to spill the beans before getting his/her ass axed.

Have you not read the entire thread? There has been many posts that have debunked these myths without a "you're an idiot if you dont believe we landed on the moon" thrown in there.Scarlet_Buckeye;676537 wrote:I'm just trying to hear something more than "you're an idiot if you don't believe we landed on the moon."

I believe you are underestimating how tough it would be to have thousands (literally thousands) of people keep quiet if they did in fact know it was faked. I mean you're telling me if you knew it was faked and worked for NASA at the time, that right now if someone offered you ten million dollars you would not spill the beans? And even if you answer and say you wouldn't tell, you think the other thousands of people would do the same thing?
