On Beer Advocate Jason (One of the site's main reviewers and Alstrom Bros) says this about it; "Notes: This one goes down as one of the greatest, not just one of the greatest Imperial Stouts but as one of the greatest beers in the world. As close to perfection as you can get."
looking forward to checking it out.
This is one of my favorite stouts when I'm not going the Imperial route. Very Solid. I have a Bomber of their Dark Intrigue, Storm King aged in Bourbon barrels.
Then again I would expect nothing less from Victory. Just. Solid. Beers.

Just picked up some beers for the holiday weekend. Went all GL. Got some Dortmunder Gold, Burning River, Elliot Ness. Ready to get the freak out of work now.

Dear lord, that's high praise.
I've had it, and it's definitely pretty amazing, but I didn't think it was one of the best beers period (not sure how you figure that anyway ... different beers are too different, I think). I even think it has a few serious contenders for Imperial Stouts.
Having said all that, you won't be disappointed. It's really tasty, and rich like an Imperial should be.
Yeah, I grabbed a couple Holy Moses...es for the weekend. Though a little disproportionately pricy, they do put out some good quality.vdubb96;1182001 wrote:Just picked up some beers for the holiday weekend. Went all GL. Left Handed Milk Stout Nitro is some amazing stuff! I agree that it is better than Guinness. I got 2 6 packs back at the end of March from a company work party as a gift haha.

Couldn't really decide what to get so I picked up a few singles which I rarely do. 2 bottles of ST Hop Sun, 2 Sculpin, and 2 GI Matilda. Just finished a Hop Sun and enjoyed it quite a bit, first time I had it.

My comment was specifically directed at Left Hand Milk Stout being better than Guinness.

True. Not a bad beer either.
I'm heading to a brewery tomorrow, err today here in Colorado. They are having a party of some sorts and it's also The Wife's birthday. Glad her Mom will be DD.

Actually he did, then left for a while, then returned. I for one welcome our Prodigal Son !!! (He was here for a while if you want to go way back)
Dey it all just a matter of timing and now he has the time and I'm glad he's posting in this thread again.
If you want to go after one that hasn't been here as late go after our leader. Justin the Incredible.
Actually I'm impressed that this thread is still going and number 4 in posts and views as an active thread. All because it was started as a dig at Walgreens having their own beer. This topic would have lasted a whole 5 minutes at that other hell hole.
I didn't start this thread, but I happy for what it has become.
