My pumpkin ale was transfered to the secondary carboy last night. Smells delicious. Should be ready to drink by Halloweener.

I'm a big fan of theirs (DFH) and the beer store near me has a huge selection from them, about 18 different brews, so wondering if this is worth picking up? I'd also like to try Chicory Stout and Midas Touch.

Any feed back on these would be great, thanks. Love heavy beers in the fall.
18% is not avaliable in Ohio. DFH Palo Santo marron taste like licking a fireplace.

You can refer to me as Mr. I've Tried Everything Except World Wide Stout. I've never had it nor have I even seen it. I'd love to try it.

Chicory Stout - I'm just not a huge fan of it. Don't really hate it, but it's my least favorite DFH brew.

Midas Touch - Love it. It is definitely a different kind of beer. I grab a sixer every now and then.

With my RIS ready to drink on Thursday, I'm starting to think about my next homebrew. For the homebrewers on here, how do you decide which beer to do next?

That's cool - if you don't mind getting a paper bag of actual dog shit in return.

Sometimes I try to do something that makes sense seasonally other times it's based on whatever I've had recently that I liked and want to make. Lately it's been based on whatever ingredients I've got around though.

I'm interested in trying either a Saison, Tripel, or a Quad as neither I or my friend have tried this before. Any experience with this/how much of a pain in the ass would it be?

I've actually not brewed any of the Belgian varieties. Those and a sour are really the only major styles I haven't tried to make yet. Saison I think could be pretty doable but without actually researching it I'd think that the subtle complexity that is tripels and quads could make for a finicky brew. But that's just me talking out of my ass.

I actually dry hopped a brew today which is a really hoppy dark ale that I used a really weird grain bill with. Very interested to see how it turns out.
