It was fantastic.
Curly J;1587998 wrote:I should have warned you about sediment. We had the Batch 1 of Mephistopheles Stout the other night and there was a lot sediment in it. I believe you have a bottle of it from 2006, so when you have it watch out.

I drank my last bottle of the Stone RIS from 2007 recently and it was Wonderful. I still have a bottle from 2008.
Didn't really notice any sediment but I only had half last night. This bottle was from spring of 2007.

Deeeelicious.

Like it better than the monster? I've got four waiting but not feeling too hot.

I actually don't mind the sediment most of the time. Grosses my wife out, though, so I try to avoid pointing it out.

Alchemy/Chillwave are the same. Just changed the name. Comparable? I think so. Like I said though and maybe Curly can vouche for this as well, last years Monster I didn't think was that great. Actually liked Alchemy/Chillwave better.

Other interesting beers I've had recently:

Hinterland Luna Coffee Stout (Green Bay Brewing): Solid nitro coffee stout - reminded me of a breakfast Guinness. Would have again.
Stochasticity Project: Grapefruit Slam IPA (Stone Brewing): Not all that great to be honest. There was definitely some tartness from the grapefruit but wanted a bit more oomph.
Darkness 2013 (Surly Brewing): Awesomely complex Russian imperial from one of my favorite breweries. 2013 version is shaping up to be a gem.
Ola Dubh 30-Year Special Reserve (Haviestoun Brewery): Strangely flat but easy to drink. Difficult beer to find so I was happy to try it, probably wouldn't go out of my way to find it though.
Fuck Art - This is Architecure (To Øl): Really enjoyable Belgian from a Danish brewery I hadn't tried before. Will definitely get them again.

No my Man, you learned on your own. Palates are Palates and each different, but ours must be close when it comes to some beers.

It was nice drinking some Sours at Rivertown with you though. You got to make it down here again and we can meet at up at MadTree or Rhinegeist next time.

Not taking credit for something completes a circle jerk?

"I learned from you."
"No, I learned from you."

^ Circle jerk.

"I learned from you."
"No, you learned from yourself."

^ Doesn't sound the same to me. Where's the "circle" part?

deflecting a compliment and pulling the pedagogue "no, you learned from yourself" card is a circlejerk.

It's really not. There is no "circle" ... nothing cyclical.

I'm surprised we're even discussing it.

since a circle has infinite sides I guess you could be stroking yourself.

I'm surprised Yahoo Answers came to this. Congrats, Smithie

A geometric circle doesn't have infinite sides. It has no sides.

And the social term "circle jerk" requires cyclical agreement. Doesn't apply.

If you find two people complimenting each other annoying, that's one thing, and it's certainly between you and your own innate reaction to something. However, that doesn't mean calling it something it isn't is accurate.

For example, I've found this entire discussion annoying, but my calling it a pissing match wouldn't be accurate, because it doesn't apply.

Same principle.

It has infinite sides, that's simple.

A circlejerk requires cyclical agreement, that's what is implied

I called them out on being fans of one another. That's obvious

You disagreeing because it hurts your feelings that I called out the obvious is.........sad.

Sorry that I hurt your feelings.
