I actually think it was a planned run. The line action looked like a trap. Kid almost got it too, but that's a rough situation to be in and depend on a fake punt trap. I suppose that's true Smithie style tho, right?

Nice season for the Smithies. If anyone watched them this season, they would have known a good passing team would be the team that hurt the Smithies. Although they play hard, DB's aren't very tall or have a lot of speed. Hillsdale won on the big play and so did Tuslaw. Even in the big win vs Norwayne a dropped deep pass by Norwayne late in the game could have cost them that game. Love their discipline and how the kids play hard, but I think the Smithies need to develop at least some passing game. As for the pass call deep in Wynford territory; I thought is was a good call. TE was wide open, but ball was thrown way behind him. It should have bee a touchdown and may have changed the game up somewhat as Smithville would have taken the lead at that point. Good luck seniors and hope the kids coming back work hard in the offseason.

The ball was thrown way behind him because the blitz was not picked up and the QB got pounded, as he did the entire game trying to make plays in obvious passing situations. You are right though Obama, that was a huge play, that was a TD if executed. Good season Smithville! They will need to utilize their returning skilled athletes much more if they want to enjoy success next season.

Yes, there was pressure, but still a manageable play. Not laying blame, but Smithies do not execute passing game very well. there wasn't pressure on QB for pick six, just a way late throw against the grain that should have either been run or thrown away. I would like to see Smithies get their qb to run a little more option. Saw a touch of it, but should have been a pitch last night and it would have been a big gainer. Big losses up front for this time, but I hope they work hard and continue getting better.

You're right obama. I wish he would have hit that receiver a little earlier. Then it would have been a 3 yard gain and a 4th and 15 instead of an interception. Sorry, just a very frustrating night.

Watched the play of the behind throw to #82 and it was not a blitz. It was a combination not selling the fake on counter action by both the qb and the rb, and more importantly the back taht took the fake did not pick up defensive end. Once de saw back was not getting the ball, he came hard.

Looking forward to this! Ought to be exciting!

I really do wish Orrville got to play all the WCAL teams on a consistent basis.

Congrats to Norwayne. I thought the game would be closer but Brookfield let Wallace have too much time to find his receivers. The Bobcats looked pretty good last night, decent offensive balance and good defense....and the 2011 Bobcat calling card, back breaking big play ability.

Brookfield has a nice passing game and an excellent QB, unfortunately they lacked a running game early and couldn't afford to try to get a running attack going in the last quarter and a half. The Warrior fans I talked to were an unruly bunch of hooligans (my kind of folks:D) but they took the one sided game in stride and enjoyed the playoff atmosphere. They also gave Miyagi the scoop on the adult entertainment in the Youngstown area.

The last I saw of Miyagi, he was turning east onto 76/224....Youngstown bound!!

He said something about a "Miyagi trifecta"

Miyagi did have a " Miyagi Trifecta" ! Which is a lot better than a BRF trifecta if you know what Miyagi means.........Red.you were supposed to follow Miyagi. What happened ? You want to talk about "playoff" atmosphere then you should have been there......And another thing..Miyagi is getting ready to go because it is 2 AM closing time, and the clock goes back an hour to 1 AM !!! A whole extra hour !!!

Bobcats looked quite a bit different on turf, which most teams will, looking forward to a good game on Saturday

Miyagi san.....
Bloody is bummin' he missed Miyagis trifecta....Bloody imagines Miyagis roll of singles is much smaller today. Bloody has experience with the Youngstown scene. Miyagi should probably see doctor san.

Beast.....
for once, loopholes has my number. testicles are in purse for foreseeable future. Going anywhere in the company of Miyagi is verboten. My wifes punishments are long but her memory is short. I'll catch up to you at a game in 2012.

I have noticed 3 of the 4 survivors in D4 R13 are within 25 miles of each other. Apparently Loopholes has vastly overstated Manchesters team as Black River smoked them last night. The Pirates have now beaten them away and at home in the same season. I'm thinking both Norwayne and Orrville would have spanked them even worse. The PAC & WCAL were both down this year.

Looking down the D4 road. Wellington got throughly embarrassed by Kenton and their superstar, all everything QB. I wonder how Genoa will fare?

Big surprise with Wadsworth and Glenoak! I didn't think the Grizzlies would hang much less win.

Umm ... no?

I think it would create a good atmosphere for Orrville to consistently play playoff-caliber teams from within Wayne County.

Been out of town over the weekend and missed the game! Well congrats to Wynford and to my Smithies. Smithville was a pleasure to watch this season! I will be there next year and from the sounds of the D.R. article, so will Schrock! I need to find a Friday Game to attend, Cardinal Mooney and Steubenville sounds like a good option! I am out of town again on Sat and I am going to miss the "BIG GAME". Gotta wish the WCAL good luck!

And just how would you propose the AD from Orrville and the AD's in Wayne Co schedule this playoff-caliber match up year after year? so in 2012,2013 2014, 2015, who will be the playoff caliber Wayne Co league teams?
