rittman looked pretty decent today at their 7 on 7 vs norton. they made some good plays and the backup quarterback for rittman who will be a freshman this year really throws a nice ball. starting QB for rittman also looked alright and is very quick.

Huskies looked rough today in 7 on 7 with Mansfield Madison. Defense was beaten consistently with the deep ball and offense was shakey at best. That being said, July is July and the potential is there.

I agree 1_beast, Smithville has been to predictable. They have talent but I feel it has been misused

This is why everyone in Smithie land is happy to have Besancon back.

Mt, I respect your opinion when you post, but Brent will not have much to do with the offense this year. So if they do improve (hopefully), it will not be because of him. Now if we are talking defensively then that is a much much different story. That is where his imprints will be. Schrock and Baker will still have much of the offensive responsibilities.

^^ I heard this as well, that Brent is going to be on the defensive side of the ball. I think this is a mistake IMO b/c he is a great offensive minded guy, but time will tell.

By the way, the predictablitity is something that many people in town agree with. Hopefully with a very experienced team this year that isn't the case.

I can see the Besancon situation as a good thing. Defense is what Smithville has struggled with recently, it's where the most help is needed. You can't give up 40+ a game and expect many wins. Hopefully Besancon can put his mark on this team, wherever he coaches.

I find it interesting that after Hillsdale wins its first Championship in forty years, when so many said it would not happen. Now, so many are picking them to repeat. My how times have changed. I hope they are right!

Nothing wrong with picking a repeat for a program that was down for a number of years, but is running through a crop of good athletes along with a head coach that seems to have weathered the storm early on in his career at Hillsdale and helped get the kids and community to buy into his way! Coach Williams has been a class act everytime I have talked to him!

I don't see the Falcons repeating this year but they should have a nice team. They have a fine looking group of kids and I hear great things about the coach. I look for them to be very competitive this year. They should finish top 3. Good luck Falcons.

It's been interesting to watch the WCAL the over the last couple years. Norwayne wins the league a few years ago then Hillsdale last year. Both of them look to be in the mix again this year.

It sure has been interesting to say the least, but it just re-affirms my thought that we have one of the best Leagues around.

I agree Falcon, our league is very good. I look for the Bobcats and the Falcons to be right in the mix again at the end of this season. I believe it's the last game of the regular again this year. It's been great watching these two programs develop into league powers over the last couple years. Continued success to both!!

How does Dalton's numbers look. I know they were thin last year. Hopefully they can get some more kids involved this year.

last I heard there was 30-35 9th and 10th graders but only 10-15 11th and 12th graders, but I cant say for sure. That's the reason a lot of youngsters will play this year. The jr and sr classes have never had great participation, even in jr high. but hey, dalton's the smallest school around - they're used to not having a ton of numbers.

In the past Dalton has overcome smaller numbers with great athletes, what is the overall athleticism of this years team?

definitely a step down from last year (but how can it not be when you lose guys like they lost). There is still some good ones, but they are young and raw with the exception of Moyer who will move from wr/rb to QB this year.

I hope all goes well for Dalton this season. I really like the kids over there, and most of the posters from Dalton on this site are pretty respectable guys. Guess I will catch up with some of you at the Dalton v. Triway scrimmage in a month or so.

Ya I was able to make it. The Dogs looked okay when on O. The first series on D did not go well as Mogadore completed almost every pass. The thing that stuck out the most to me was Cailet at Reciever. I thought he made a couple nice catches. I don't think we will throw much anyways cause it sounds like we will have a solid line for this season.
