I'm going with the obvious picks this week. I am going to go with Hillsdale to outscore the Chipps by more pts than the other games. I think Norwayne is capable of scoring more than any of the other top 4 but they are playing the best of the lower 4 (IMO). Chippewa is terrible and gave up 50 plus per game last year. I think Rittman is The worst of the lower 4 but Waynedale doesnt possess the fire power that Hillsdale and Norwayne do.

First of all, if your bride-to-be ever searches your browser history and find you were searching for videos like that, I will save some money on a wedding gift for you two. Unless you have that video saved as one of your favorites (which I suspect) she ain't marrying you.

Secondly, I have a hairy chest, FYI. Miyagi's American wife can confirm. Her lucky numbers are 330-749-56**.

Thirdly, Northwestern puts up a heck up a fight this week and doesn't get blown out. And you can take that to the bank.

Although many assume that the Smithville and Dalton game this Friday may not be a classic, many in the game's history have been. It leads me to ask you all a simple question. As a player, fan, or coach, what is your favorite rivalry moment in the WCAL?

For myself, it was Smithville's 2008 victory in the closing seconds at Dalton. 21-20. With 1:20 left in the game Smithville drove 80 yards for the go ahead score. Dalton completed some nicely drawn up screen plays and had one last shot, but a Hail Mary was broken up on the last play of the game.

I have to say beating Smithville in 89 in a snow storm in my last home game, we crushed norwayne a week later to clinch a 7-0 WCAL record...unfortunately that was before the playoffs expanded and we went 9-1 and didnt make the playoffs. Our team had 5 shutouts and only gave up 37 points on the year!!!

Im sure if i think i can come up with something more dramatic...

I kind of like the worst blowout competition idea. Here's my predictions

1. Waynedale will blow Rittman out big!!!! You don't really need an offense to drop 50 on Rittman this year, they will throw enough interceptions and cough up enough fumbles to give most teams 42 (see mapleton game). Throw in alot of poor coaching and combine that with the 20-30 pts the Bears would normally score and you get 72-0.

2. Smithville over Dalton. If its like I'm hearing and the Dawgs are way down this year. This could get ugly. Smithville has always been known for running up the score and if they can score 50-60 on Dalton they will do it. My guess...54-8

3. Norwayne will call off the Cats when it gets to be around 45-0. The Huskies will score some "varsity on JV" points late. Final score 50 some to 12.

4. Finally, the game of the week!! Chippewa may not be as bad as first thought. Hillsdale isn't yet hitting on all cylinders. This could be a nail biter (by this weeks standards) I'm going to go with 35-0

Interesting video Ringz,
Miyagis american wife told me that it was you.

She also said her real lucky number was--
7........the amount of sammichs required to get you to fall asleep so she could raid your wallet.

Then she admitted, her unlucky number was--
4.....the number of guys she had to hire to roll your big snoring ass over so she could get to the wallet.

Lived it for three years at West Holmes. Interceptions and fumbles are NEVER the QB fault, someone else making a mistake. Ask the coach he will tell you that. Remember when QB got hurt at WH and the coach is quoted in paper saying "As (QB not naming) goes, so goes the team" Love how the rest of the players on the field were not worth much in the coaches eyes. Let's not worry about the better QB lined up at WR as long as we can get my kid a scholarschip to a non-scholarschip school!!

My favorite WCAL moment was watching Smithville beat Dalton after executing that fake punt pass down the sideline...then it was the "tiger fade" pass play as Schrock calls it that won the game with seconds left on the clock.

Another moment was watching Dalton and Smithville play at Red Rider Stadium....that was pretty neat. If you can't play Orrville there you might as well play your rival :D

This may be the MOST dramatic in my young life...not the BEST memory for several reasons...but you could cut the atmosphere with a knife:

1987: Bears 6-0 Hosting Dalton (maybe 5-1?, 4-2)....Unfortunately...game week Dalton Senior Cheeleader and very popular, attractive young lady(may have even been their homecoming Queen) was killed in an automobile accident!

Bears were senior heavy and solid...warming up on our end and all of a sudden...you dont HEAR Dalton coming....you just SEE the TEAM as they take the field....Marching at a very slow jog almost in Military unison...decked out helmet to cleats in black....NOT A SOUND.....lapped the field...warmed up in silence...it was almost bonechilling...That night Dalton dedicated their WIN at OUR house to Ms Jane Doerffer (RIP). I dont think I have EVER faced a more determined, focused, hard hitting group in my career than i witnessed THAT night. I can still see them young men lining the perimeter of OUR field as they prepared to knock off the undefeated Bears!!! My hats off to that team...24 years later!

oh - Mr Russell, that one brings back some bad memories. As awful as it was to lose that one - it was truly one of the best ever in this rivalry. I rarely remember my emotions going from high to low as much as they did in that one.

As far as the 2011 version, I fear it may be similar to the blowout 2 years ago at smithville (except with the opposite team winning).

I'm going to throw a little spin on the WCAL best memory idea and give just the opposite, the worst memory.

In 1984, Northwestern visited Hillsdale for what was the Falcons Homecoming game. The Huskies dressed at home and disembarked from their bus on that little side road that runs parallel to the stadium. Then they hid in the cornfield at the west end of the stadium waiting for the festivities to start.

While the band was playing softly and the queen was being crowned, BOOM!!! out of the cornfield comes the Northwestern team, screaming and yelling right through a portion of the band and over to their sideline. Naturally, the band messes up, the announcer messes up, it pretty much ruined the homecoming ceremony.

To this day, I still can't believe Tom Wolff (NWN head coach) wasn't fired the next day. It was a bush league, no class move that fired up Hillsdale, and they almost won. Which is saying something for the 80's Falcon teams.
