Since you asked for my help...I'll advise, The young man is a FINE wrestler! No older brothers that I know of.....dont be surprised....momma is worse than son!

Smithville is a very good team, no doubt, but is far from great (they lost to a very average tuslaw team). Hillsdale is very good as well, but they were better last year. Norwayne hadn't played any decent team in the wcl before last night. Their non-league games look decent, but I don't think we really know how good those teams are, either. CVCA has a good record, but its not a top year in the PAC, either. I think the chances of a 3 way tie for the league are pretty good, but I feel a lot less confident that we have a team go far in the postseason from the conference than I did Friday morning.

Smithville has improved immensely, Hillsdale is underrated....and IDK WHAT to think of Norwayne....prior to friday night...I thought they would beat Orrville...Im still not sure they wont...Schrock SHOWED why he is "The Dean"!!!!!

Havin Fun;941323 wrote:Bobcat14 - I was one who was really impressed with the Norwayne team this year. I felt they could really give Orrville a game if given the chance. I still think they are a good team but right now I want them to lose to Hillsdale and somehow miss the playoffs. This kid obviously did not learn his lesson since so we will see what kind of men are on the Norwayne coaching staff next Friday. If this kid is in uniform, they deserve to be called out and hopefully Hillsdale adds further embarrassment. If he is in street clothes than there is hope of some class left in Creston.

I too was impresssed...I too thought they not only would give Orrville a game, but win. (Im still not confident they wouldn't, Orrville doesnt have that ballcontrol offense).....NO HOPE OF CLASS!!!!

THE4RINGZ;941342 wrote:Can we please stop the discussion about #22? My God, the kid wanted some cred, and he got it. We are still talking about it almost a week after the fact. I assure you all one thing, Schrock would have had his boys ready to win that game even if there had not of been a YouTube or Facebook video. His actions, while a mild distraction perhaps to the bobcats, were NOT the reason the creston 11 didn't go home with a victory. You can use him as a scape goat, and keep his name in the presses, but the fact of the matter is Smithville was more prepared, had a better game plan, and executed better.

Now, seeing that Hillsdale has the same ability to take the air out of the ball, and keep the ball out of Wallace's hands on offense, does your prediction for the Week 1o Showdown change?

NO...Its not a week later...its 2 days later. This young man will be labeled for eternity for "cursing" The Cats.....He wanted the attn...he got it....I noticed late in the 3rd, possibly early in the 4th "lockdown 22" still had a white jersey....LOL Then he got his clock cleaned!!!! Suddenly his back was brown! I dont know if hillsdale has the running game to sustain the drives to keep norwayne off the field. I think Norwayne has more talent...but Hillsdale is better coached!!!

Havin Fun;941356 wrote:Beverboy - sorry if you take my comment personnally. My point was about the weakness of the WCAL, not about Dalton. Getting a win against any of the bottom five in the WCAL this year is not a great accomplishment. Rittman and Chippewa are about as bad as it gets for HS football in the state. Sorry if that offends anyone but look at the non-conference records of these five teams.
The fact Norwayne rolled these teams shows it meant nothing once they got against what is probably just an average Smithie Team when compared to past years. Norwayne had 37 yards rushing and gave up well over 200 yards on the ground. What will happen against an Orrville team with Monheim running the ball? After what I saw last night, it could get real ugly.

Actually it is a GREAT accomplishment for this young Bulldog team!!!!

ersonally, I dont think Monheim runs all over Norwayne. The kid has crisco on his hands...fumble-itis!!! Monheim is one....Smithvillle has a 3 headed monster.

I talked last week about the game plan and Smithville executed it to perfection! Keep the Bobcat offense off the field and control the clock!! I guess my oldtimer stories about 2003 seem very relevent today Hahaha! You cant out fox Schrock!!!!

Perfect post!

OQB;941436 wrote:I beg to differ Ringz...this kid couldn't stop running his mouth and gave Smithville 15 yards because of it which kept the drive going....so I would say his actions did contribute to last nights game and in a big way.

Havin Fun;941437 wrote:The bottom five in the WCAL are the weakest they have ever been. I stand by that. I have never seen a year where there was such a seperation from the top 3 to the bottom 5. It may be youth, it may be many other things but that will not change my opinion. There has been one mildly competitve game when NW played Smithville and that was really over after Smithville jumped to a 21-0 lead. The rest have been blowouts with the game over in the first quarter. When has that last happened???

Correct!!!!! Youth...Coaching...Inexperience...did I mention COACHING???? That NWN team BEAT Smithville after the first quarter only losing by 6....and was in another good game last night losing to Waynedale in OT....If their recievers catch the ball...Huskies win.....If they have a kicker, Huskies win...why in the world would you onside kick ....tied up....with 28 sec to play????( i hold my tongue for fear of stalkerisms) However look at the stats....

LOL Its certainly a reversal...but you are only kidding yourself if you think it is not a down year...be realistic...
