Played it a lot more in high school because it hosted our league and District tournaments. The Green and Pines (10-27) were the 18 we would play for tournaments because the River Course has a couple driveable par 3's and would get backed up when the course was full. I'd say it is worth the drive to play sometime, it isn't the hardest course but the greens are usually in good condition and its not overly crowded so you can play at a good pace. They also host a lot of amateur events during the summer that have some good local players.

It is when you are 16 and have only played golf MAYBE once before. LOL

Terry_Tate and I hit the links a few times last year. You should join us this year.

Played golf twice in my life. Just can't get into it.

But how does the golf bug bite when it's like 20 degrees and snowing outside?

I got hit with it hard a couple of weekends ago at the expo in Columbus. I'm an accountant and we are getting into tax season, so it kills me every year sitting in the office waiting to get out and play.

Zwick.............take the drive down 77 and play Salt Fork sometime. This course is kept pretty nice. Zoar is another nicely kept course, a bit short on some yardages though.

This course in Millersburg is a nice track, as well.

Black diamond retired me last year. Have never hit the ball so well and scored so bad.

oops, obviously I meant a couple par 4's. Although there is a par 3 on the Greens course that is about 235-240 from the tips with water in the front/right of the green.

If I remember correctly, your 1 playing partner that is a mental midget also had a stellar showing.

Zoar is a course I frequent a lot also. I've only played Salt Fork once. I play Black Diamond once a year. It's really gone down hill though in terms of condition.

The first time I played Black Diamond I shot a 83 and felt I played good enough for a 73. I've been in the 70's every time since then but it is a tough course.

I hate him. He is pretty good at bringing the group down while raising the stakes.

It's bank owned. That's why it's down

I knew they filed bankruptcy. I didn't know they lost it. It's a shame cuz that course was immacualte at one time.

That is correct. He basically beat himself before he even teed off, telling everyone else how hard Black Diamond was. Then he proceeded to reach for his 50" long drive freak show driver and pounds it 350 yards OB. I'd like to thank him for blowing up and making it easy to win front, back and total.

Pass one my favorite courses on the way to work, people were sledding on #8 this morning. Getting the itch to be outside on a regular basis either golfing, mowing, or camping.

Did this happen after the owner died? Were family members suing one another over ownership or something? That guy had plenty of Jack when he died several years ago.

We've got a net in the dome here on campus so I hit pretty regularly, 2 or 3 times a week at least... just sort of feeling things out right now, can't wait for it to get a little nicer out. Since I"m coaching in Missouri this summer I'm gonna start researching courses to play on the off days

not really. Doing it more for the exposure to get my name out there than anything. Team is 501-C which means I get basically nothing, I do get a host family but monetarily I MIGHT get a $500 stipend when its all said and done

It is no wonder with the frozen tundra that is Ohio and the rest of the NE and MW, that guys invented stuff like baseball. Somewhere across the pond the same thing probably happened, guys sitting around 300 or 500 years ago thinking "what could I be doing outside instead of looking at walls inside".

Rivergreens is a nice course, we did the 27 holes this summer after not playing it for about 10 years. Although good, late this summer it wasn't in quite as good shape as I had remembered, buy I will guess it was weather related and affected it most in between holes. We used to walk it, as it is for the most part flat. The newest 9 has some decent sized holes, especially the 1st par 5, maybe the third hole on that 9. I will play there again for sure.

Darby, how does this compare the the Washington Wildthings or the Paints?
