I've been hitting balls into a net in my basement for a few weeks now on the golf simulator. Every time I get the golf trip itinerary around this time of year, I get antsy to go play.

44 days til time change.

Yep. Summer before last, we bought our house. So all my free time (and money) was spent fixing things up around the place, painting, etc.

Last summer I got married. So all my money was tied up in that.

This year, I'm golfing as much as I possibly can.

I got wildcats a gift certificate to the Quarry for his birthday and I'm pretty pumped to go with him to use it this Spring. He likes Chippewa, too.

It's a neat layout. Definitely not your run of the mill Ohio design course. The greens suck. They never came in like they should have. Im hloding out hope that they will mature. But it's worth the play at least once (kinda overpriced).

Chippewa is just kinda my go to course though.

Ahh the Elms.. I grew up on the 3rd nine out there. It will always have a special place in my heart. But it's def not worth what they charge out there.
The Legends was my home course until the fucked it up and put the 3rd nine in and ruined the layout. Now I play it very infrequently.
Lyons Den... well what else can you say about a course with a driveable par 5 lol. It's not my favorite lol

Yeah my parents have played the Quarry and they liked it but aren't in love with it.

played the Quarry twice and played much better the 2nd time. Really a pretty easy track once you get past some of the visuals.

Our group is planning a trip late this summer/early fall to Glade Springs Resort in WV. Anyone played any of the 3 courses there?

I definitely agree with you there. I played in a league there and I had some pretty rough scores the first few weeks, but after you get an understanding of where your targets are, it's not very tough. The combination of the novelty wearing off and the poor greens keep me from playing there.

Besides Legends Elms Lions and Rolling,,,,,, I have golfed at Atwood, and River Greens. And two courses in California.

So, I am not picky when I go. LOL. I just like to get out. And I am not any good anyway. But I would like to get out a few times this year.

River Greens is always pretty nice. They have a deal either on Tuesday or Thursday, $30 for 27 holes w/ cart. If you like to walk, it is also a very walkable course. The prices are pretty low for the quality of course. The 1st nine (River) is pretty short, but very tight and can be frustrating. The 3rd nine gets tougher every year as the pines keep getting larger and larger that line some of the fairways.

yes, actually about 15 minutes before you get to Coshocton on Rt. 36
Played it a lot more in high school because it hosted our league and District tournaments. The Green and Pines (10-27) were the 18 we would play for tournaments because the River Course has a couple driveable par 3's and would get backed up when the course was full. I'd say it is worth the drive to play sometime, it isn't the hardest course but the greens are usually in good condition and its not overly crowded so you can play at a good pace. They also host a lot of amateur events during the summer that have some good local players.
