Apparently the old Netflix thread is locked. Must be something about not letting old threads get bumped for no good reason. Anyway, saw a comment on there about the availability of the on-line library not being extensive. Anyone else experience this? Looking only to use the non-disc plan for PS3, Ipad, Iphone, PC etc. Was thinking about this for awhile and remembered when I saw the stock price jump through the roof.

I have it right now might be cancelling it soon though. It is good for a few months but it doesn't take long to watch everything you want to watch. They "update" it every week but it is not always good stuff. I haven't added anything to my instant que in probally over a month.

They don't have all their movies available for streaming yet, but they have a decent selection, and they add stuff often.

The instant movies arent really that great but the TV show selection is pretty good. If you have an extra like $8 a month i dont see a reason to not have it.

Really? If they had all of their movies available for streaming, do you think this would be a conversation? Fucking brilliant!

Awesome. Obviously he's asking what's available online. Obviously he doesn't know how extensive the library is. Obviously he doesn't fucking know if all the movies were available or not.

Well the word on the street is eventually it will be all be streaming - dvds will go the way of the dodo. For now Netflix is getting customers used to the streaming service, and assumedly is putting R&D into making it more efficient and accessible. I agree with MANAZE, the current selection of films is sorely lacking, but on the other hand it is just a matter of time until they get the streaming service ready for subscribers for all films/tv shows.

I was fishing for subjective opinion on the availability not an objective list. Was also curious if any problems within the OC community.

People are always saying that the streaming library isn't very good but I disagree. I've never not been able to find something to watch.

Honestly, if you can afford the streaming...Id just pay the extra couple dollars for the 1 disc out also.

The streaming is great, because you dont have to wait for the mail, can watch more than 1 a day, etc. But it doesnt have even 20% of the library I dont think, so it is very selective especially with new releases. They did pay the ridiculous sum to (I forget which studio) to put their movies online though, so all of their movies are available (big company).

We have the 2 disc a month so between that and the online streaming I never complain. There's always something to watch on there if you're bored.

From what I understand Universal has the largest deal with Netflix, thus a lot of popular titles (e.g., pretty much all of The Office) are available, but for the time being no one has a contract that will allow streaming while dvds are up for sale. I haven't checked recently, but I'm pretty sure some popular Universal titles, for example "Despicable Me" isn't available. I know that Starz is an intermediary that works with studios and provides Netflix with instant streaming with their titles - but again this isn't HBO or a real player in the first-run movie business. Looking at our queue, "Shutter Island" is the only remotely first-run film that is available streaming (not sure which studio it is), other than that it is a bunch of older films.

I got it a few weeks ago. You get a month for free when you sign up through the PS3 (Like I did). Before the month ends, decide if you want to keep it or not. I liked it, so I kept it.

I like watching the old tv shows and the old Nicktoons (I'm only 24). My wife and I have a hard time finding something to watch, but that's due to the fact that I can only watch the same storyline so many times (1.Girl meets guy and doesn't like him 2.gives guy a chance and falls in love 3.something happens and they break up 4.the get back together happily ever after)-Kill me
