As far as checking the web/email while on a call for myself like I said in an earlier post I have to do it all the time and yes it is better than hanging up, checking it, and calling back. So that is a great feature on AT&T.

As that is the case, it is good that such an ability exists. Most people I've talked to about it really don't seem to care, so while it might be very valuable to some (like yourself), it hardly seems like a key selling point should be made out of it. You're not hitting on a hot button for THAT big a slice of the target market.
It would have been like Verizon pitching their roadside assistance add-on when they had it. It was really cheap (like $3 a month?), and instead of covering the vehicle, like AAA, it covered the phone user. There were some parts of it that were actually better than AAA (tow coverage was better I know).
However, you never saw that advertised in a Verizon commercial. It was a nice, very useful package, that wouldn't appeal to a large enough demographic.

This IPhone 5 will not be released in the summer for Verizon.

I'm waiting on the iPhone 5 (which hopefully will be 4G). If so, then I will finally make the switch.

I don't remember where I heard it, but some rumors say that it won't be 4G, but will be able to be used on multiple networks (so in other words, one phone for both Verizon & AT&T).Scarlet_Buckeye;695851 wrote:I'm waiting on the iPhone 5 (which hopefully will be 4G). Yea, I have it. This is my first experience with the iPhone. I have the Droid Pro for work purposes and the iPhone for personal use. The Droid Pro is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. As for the iPhone, I haven't really done much with it yet. I did try to sync one of my work POP3 email accounts and it wouldn't work. It synced okay, but I didn't receive my emails for about 48 hours and then at one time about 30 of them came through and then I didn't get them again for another few days.

Do you have the "Push" feature turned to ON and how often do you have it set to "Fetch" new data? Mine is set to ON and fetches every 15 minutes (not good for battery life, but oh well) and most times I get mail on my phone before they show up on my PC!thedynasty1998;695883 wrote:Yea, I have it. Push is useless on a pop3 connection. POP3 isn't "on-demand" like everything else. It calls out and checks for mail every X amount of minutes.

I have a feeling it will be something like what bigred said with the phone being carrier locked in the US like most CDMA/GSM devices. I would also expect it to be a 3g device since 4g (LTE) service is so limited as well as a larger display, more ram and dual core A5 processor.

More than just a rumor, Apple's #2 pretty much said point blank it won't be LTE.

Great so far. Zero problems. Set up was almost a joke, with all settings copying right over from my ipod touch.
Reception has been excellent, and i've been very surprised with the battery life. Avg about 2 days between charges.

I can think of a few times it woulda been nice to be on the web and phone call at the same time...so that feature would be cool..but we dont even have three g around here so that point is moot.
Our company has been offered to sell the Iphone.....again.....and turned it down......again.....the investment is fairly steep and it takes about 55-60 unit sales to break even but still.......it is a product that we get asked for on average once a day. I would think that selling 55-60 units is doable in just a couple few months. You gotta spend some money to make money.....but when the company will not invent in the hottest and most sought after device on the market it is very frustrating.

Doesnt matter really. Been here for over 10 years and just tired of seeing the company not spend money to make money ya know. At first most places were not even allowed to sell the iphone but the opened it up recently to make more locations eligible to do so. I just do not know how one can turn this product away ya know. Its the signature product that the carrier offers and the most sought after.gport_tennis;696031 wrote:What company do you work for

That must be one heck of a sales group to sell 3G phones in an area that doesn't even have 3G service - I know some Iphone fans are sheep, but that's impressive!

Pretty much every device sold now is 3g...just means when they get to that area it will have faster data speeds...but yeah..I konw what your talking bout.

Ya know..maybe to the person who has it it means one thing..but when the average joe reads it they just laugh.
On a TV show many years ago one was CLOVER (to the driver it was See Lover....as he was a ladies man...but to the general public it was just clover!
In columbus over the weeekend and saw one I had to laugh. Ya know how certain words get thrown around as slams now and again and right now I calling someone a douche, or doucher, seems popular.
I saw a plate that said 'dewshr'. And I just had to laugh

I don't have a smart phone so I don't know how this would effect users and far as costs go, but apparently Verizon is going to be switching over to a usage based pricing model instead of the unlimited mobile data plans they are currently offering.
