I really do not see Story landing in Columbus.

My gut tells me he is going to stay in Florida but since a WR isn't super important on the list right now he would be a nice bonus.

I think he is 55/45 in favor of florida. I am surprised by his alleged comments on Drayden. Althought I agree why hire a RB coach as the WR coach. However, he is too good a coach/recruiter to not have on staff. He made comments about he knew "the plan" for WR coach coming out of his visit of tOSU. That is why I am puzzled by his alleged FB statements.

Im sure drayton could silence him by saying that he's coach the position he wants to play in the nfl someday... in the nfl.

On a different note an ESPN article sometime last week said OSU was in trouble at the QB position with only Guiton, Bauserman and Graham. Totally forgetting about Mller. Also the same article said the buckeyes class needed a RB. SMH. They don't even look at the depth chart or at what is coming in 2012.
OSU does really want Jones. He's got a grey shirt offer to keep the promise to Braxton that he'd be the only QB in the class.

OSU isn't the only school to ever go after a very good long snapper. Excellent special teams can win you one or two games a season -- or lose that number, if you don't play well. If this kid is as good as advertised, then he's worth every dime of that scholarship.

I read this second hand, I don't stalk kids on facebook.

And if the kid thinks this, then he just isn't very bright. Coaching is coaching...most if not all coaches at this level know how to coach any position. Its not brain science. The move from one position to another in coaching is not unheard of and its how you become a more well rounded coach.

Rumors are circulating that Glenville QB Cardale Jones received an offer this weekend. If true, he is a lock to sign on Wednesday.

It is no rumor. Its a fact. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2011/01/31/tressel-puts-offer-on-table-to-another-qb.html?sid=101

Although I think it is a conditional offer. If Grant and Walker come on board I am not sure there is room for him. If only one of the two commit to OSU, then yes he is a lock.

I wish he would greyshirt then redshirt. That would be a lot of waiting, but if he wants to be a buckeye and have a chance to play that is the best route.

Jones getting offered makes me belive that the coaches are willing to take 3 more guys between Grant, Walker, Story, Jennings, and Jones. If only 2 commit, leaving one spot left, then Kaser re-enters the picture.

I'm not so sure with Jones that the route has been plotted. Perhaps he goes to a prep school to get his academics up to snuff, then takes a grey shirt to possible red shirt. That would give 3 years between he and Braxton Miller, and allow him to hone his skills. It could also be a grey shirt to red shirt for a two-year separation as well. But that means a scholarship is actually used right away.

I thought before Haynes committed we had 3 spots open. Now we have 2. Presumably Grant and Walker. I thought this included McVey Hagan and J. Jackson's scholarships. I don't quite understand how this all going to work out. I guess we will see on wedensday. I would rather bank the scholariships for next year if we don't get Walker and Grant. I wouln't mind Kaser though.

I have finished trying to count spots. I am just going based on how many prospect are still being pursued. IMO, the staff is thinking they can take at least 3 more.

How we get below 85 remains to be seen. Hopefully there is a plan in place now.

I agree about next year. Talk about bad timing. Monster class in state and we will only have 15-20 spots. This will allow other Big Ten schools to raid the state and get more left overs than usual.

I have to imagine the staff knows more concerning players leaving or the decisions of recruits we have offered. Rest assured they are not just offering players then worrying about how to get to 85 later.

Jones will never play QB at Ohio State.

I don't think he is a good enough Athlete to be a WR or TE. If he comes to OSU he will play QB but only in mop up duty.
