This is why you need a big name coach.

With Blackmon and Floyd coming back, that makes the 3rd best WR, baldwin from pitt all the more valuable, which means he probably won't last past the1st round. If we can't get him, jones, or green then I say we just use the first 3 rounds to beef up our front 7. Matt roth is getting an extra chin everyday.

Ask Dan Snyder how well getting big name free agents has helped him.

Rumor going around that they are going after Dick Jaroun to be the next DC.

Ryan has a interview in Dallas today for their DC opening.

Official change to 43 defense should change our drafting style a touch. No more Marcel Dareus.

I don't know, people are saying Dareus wouldn't be that BAD of a fit in a 4-3.... But if that's the case I wouldn't mind seeing Quinn from UNC as our pick if he is available. I'm not a fan of Daquan Bowers or any "one year wonder" that goes out for the draft.

You don't like Nick Fairley then either?

And Quinn was a bit of a one-year wonder also. 2 sacks in '08, then boomed for 11 in '09.

Bowers and Fairley won't be available for us at 6 anyway, though.

I'm leaning towards grabbing Prince Amukamara or A.J. Green still if he drops. Having Amukamara and Haden could be nasty. Eric Wright could step in and start at times, and be great as a nickel, or possibly move to FS, and move T.J. Ward to SS.

At first I thought that since we were almost certain to change to a 4-3 that we needed to go d-line with our first pick, but the more I have thought about it, the more I see the need for a CB or WR....It is imperative that we get a #1 WR this offseason, whether it be FA or through the draft, we have to have one period! I wouldn't mind the Amukamara pick either though as you can never have enough CB's that can shut down a receiver. The one thing I like is that EVERYONE is on the same page this year, and we won't haev 3 guys wanting three different guys...it will be an easier draft from that perspective.

we are sitting in a great spot at 6. we could get a stud number one in aj green, or a stud dt in fairley for our new 4-3 defense or a stud cornerback in peterson. looking forward to see which direction we head in.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know if it has been discussed, but anyone hearing rumors about a Kevin Kolb deal? There was an ESPNsider article that listed the Browns as a possible trade destination. It will be interesting to see what the Eagles would want in a deal, as they have probably lost some leverage in trade discussions assuming they give Vick a decent amount of money.

Chances are none of those 3 will be available at 6.

I think I heard on ESPN that the eagles would want a number 1 for Kolb

The insider article listed the Browns as a destination essentially for the familiarity that he has with Pat Shurmur and Heckart. It says the deal became less likely based on Colt McCoy's play but as with all new coaches they may really push for "their guy" ala Mangini with all the former Jets.

With McCoy staying in Denver any rumblings about McDaniels? I know he doesn't have the Holmgren tree ties, but the guys was pretty good at what he did in New England.

He interviewed with the Rams for their vacant OC position. Sounds like he is intrigued with the thought of working with Sam Bradford.

plus i don't think he would like to come here and be the assistant offensive coordinator since pat will be calling the plays
