I think we still go DE with the FIRST of our 2nd round pick....then we go WR with the SECOND 2nd round pick.

Maybe Bowers will be around. I would think that you gotta take him if hes there.

Couple wr's that I like:
Cobb
Young
Jernigan
Hankerson

Nice selection. Just upgraded the interior defense SIGNIFICANTLY. Even the Cryptkeeper (from Pittsburgh) showing the Browns some "love".....

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=6445044

People bitching/confused about Heckert filling a NEED. The team NEEDS THREE D-Linemen (now two), peeps. Stay calm....

BTW....I REALLY like this pick. Think about it....Rubin and this monster in the interior? Reminds me of Siragusa & Sam Adams on the interior when the Rats won the Super Bowl. Now all we need is a "killer" MLB like Ray Ray.

Actually Friday is a non-training day but if I don't hit the road by 5:45am (hour+ commute) I'm screwed.

BR what do you think about Bowers with out next pick? I heard he has a knee issue but how severe? Would he be a pick similar to Sergio Kindle was for Baltimore a few years ago in that he wouldn't see the field till 2012 at the earliest?

I'm shocked that Bowers is still there. The guy was projected as a top 5 pick. BR knows more about this stuff than I do but I wouldnt mind taking a shot at him in the 2nd round. I think we need to address two needs in round 2 and DE is one of them, the other being WR

Who were the Browns starting LBers last season? Is this an area that they need to improve on?

the only area on the D they don't really need to draft at is in the secondary...so sure, they could pick a lb (they need line more though...and they need a wr also)

que?? I wouldn't mind a safety or CB in this draft.

I don't mind the pick by the Browns but I think you could have filled a need at 27 and still had 3 picks in the next 45 or so. Obviously they saw something they had to have in this kid and I can't wait to see what it is.

I hope they get a pass rusher with the next pick. I don't like taking any of the WRs left with the 6th pick of th 2nd round. Heck I would even think about taking Paea if he is still there. Do you think the Browns look at a guy like Akeym Ayers or Brooks Reed? I honestly have no idea what the Browns will do tonight.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Heckert wheel & deal again today trading that #37 & one of the ATL picks to move up to #33 with NE to grab Bowers. I see NE taking him and converting him to an OLB.

Seems like a lot of people, not necessarily on here, are in panic mode over this Taylor selection. "OMG we need a WR!!!" Did anyone stop to think, outside of the box, that with the free agency "floodgates" opening Monday (hopefully it will be the 400+ players hitting the market vs 200+) that Heckert will also fill needs there? Plus, that second 1st rounder that they accumulated doesn't necessarily HAVE to be used in the draft. What if that WR "need" was filled by trading for a Vincent Jackson, etc?

I'd like to see them grab a nasty MLB in FA. I just don't see Gocong, if re-signed, as a serviceable MLB (assuming Fujita at one OLB, DQ Jackson at the other).

FWIW the walter football re-mock has the Browns taking the CB/S from Texas, Arron WIlliams and the WR from Troy Jerrel Jernigan with the second round picks.

I'd have no issue with this. Jernigan has been a target of mine for awhile.

I could see them moving up as well....

I am a fan of getting more warm bodies and keeping the picks we have. I would be more interested in moving back in the 2nd if someone wanted to trade a 2nd and 3rd for our 2nd.

Yes, but keep in mind that Holmgren wants to take a late round QB. BR says Tyrod Taylor. I wouldn't mind him or McElroy.

I wouldn't mind a million dollars either, but it won't happen. They need other things more than they need secondary help, that's not so hard to get is it?
