OBR's 53 man squad predictions...

http://cle.scout.com/2/1102201.html

Heckert supposedly will try to keep these quiet for as long as possible. Apparently Brian Smith (Notre Dame) didn't get the memo as he's tweeted that he made the squad.

EDIT: Apparently not....here's the first cuts. Need to drop 10 more, I believe...

I thought that people liked Brandonn Braxton as a backup OL and thought he had a good chance to make the team? Other than that I guess none of those cuts disappoint me

Was also a bit surprised with this. Was under the impression he was the only backup LT they had.

Very surprising...they must have their eye on another player they presume will be cut.

Might as well just change your name to CoA :D.

BR1986FB;881365 wrote:I wouldn't give him a big (years) extension because with the way he plays, I could see him having a VERY short shelf life in the league. I'd extend him years, maybe 4, max.
Im hoping they offer him 3 years. If i was a GM of any team I would never offer a RB anything longer than 3 yrs.

I meant to say "3 years, 4 years max."

#Browns Cut down deadline is 30 minutes away. Browns waiting until 9 p.m. to announce ther cuts. It has nothing to do with prime time.

#Browns They think waiting to announce their cuts gives them an edge. League sends out cut list to teams at 9.p.m. That's why Browns wait..

Don't see how that gives them an "edge," but alright. I like how they are doing anything to try to get an edge though. A for effort.

The Redskins had tried to trade (Artis) Hicks, and one of the teams they were talking to was the Cleveland Browns, according to the backup guard/tackle. But the two sides weren’t able to agree to terms, so Hicks will be released.

Brandon Meriweather is drawing a lot of interest from the #Cowboys, #Redskins, #Browns, #Raiders, & #Jets. Could be signed quickly.

I would expect Meriweather to take biggest $$$ deal possible. Don't forget, he hasn't made a ton of money (in #NFL terms). Last year 500k.

This is good news for us. If we can spend some of that salary room we have on meriweather, I'd forgive Heckert for being so quiet during free agency

Looks like Brian Smith jumped the gun on announcing he made the squad.

Former Brown Eric Barton suspended 4 games by the NFL.

If this was for PED's, he needs a new supplier...

Besides Meriweather, what other players do you think could be targets?

I don't see them going after a WR. I do see them getting at least one more LB.

Avery got cut? That kinda shocks me, figured theyd keep him around, he could be a dangerous slot guy

My understanding is that he runs a 4.25? Dangerous, indeed.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tavares Gooden (Ravens) brought in. Still young and would probably play a lot.

Cant believe the Pats cut Meriweather. He injured or something?
