After the Jamarcus Russell debacle and what they paid for him, it wouldn't shock me if the Raiders put in a bid for him.

Yeah, it would be risky for whoever decides to pick him. I just look at his ability and think potential. The more I think about it, the more I'm probably against it. He can't even practice until week 6. So it would almost be a lost year. But for a late pick, he may be worth it.

I wouldn't take anything higher than a 6th or 7th on him as a developmental QB/ATH...

Don't like this. Hope he steps it up with some hustle...
• The pass-rush drill ends. A horn blows. The defenders now must quickly get to an 11-on-11 session on a different practice field.
Somebody yells at the rookie, “C’mon, Phil, hustle. The rookie seems not to hear. He isn’t walking, but he isn’t jogging very fast.
He is the last man to arrive, getting to a huddle with the “ones” just as the 10 other guys, already in place, are doing the group clap before spreading out into their positions, preparing to face Colt McCoy and his gang on a play.
Is first-round pick Phil Taylor ready for this?

A veteran better get his head out of his ass.

Hopefully Rubin or Fujita will straighten him out.

Could be an isolated incident but I don't like seeing that shit out of a rookie. Especially a 1st rounder. Guy had a rep for being potentially "lazy" coming out of school.

Its also the middle of the grind of practice, hes a huge guy, unlike veterans coming up with "hammies and lower back issues" hes just getting there a little slow. First we've heard of anything like this, so Im sure its some newsboy trying to make a story out of nothing.

Haha...Doerschuk is hardly a "newsboy." He's one of the better local Browns Beat guys.

Thats like the tallest midget award though lol. He is decent though, miles ahead of Mary Kay or Grossi.

Yea, Pryor is not a good idea. He showed nothing in college that tells me he can even convert to WR.BR1986FB;866199 wrote:I'm not really in favor of taking him just because his position is "athlete."
He's not a QB. Could he be converted to a WR? Possibly but he has to KNOW (have it driven into his head by Browns management) that coming in he will NOT be a QB. Will he be fine with this? Doubtful as Rosenhaus is going to push him as a QB so the agent (Rosenhaus) can get the most cheddar. Can you imagine Pryor's reaction if Shurmur says "you're playing specials and we want you on kick/punt coverage?"
All this being said I give up no higher than a 7th for him.

Besides his TD in his only time lining up at WR? haha

True, the jumpball in the endzone route is very technical.

It wouldn't be the first time.

No kidding. Kinda my point with Suh's propensity for trying to rip QB's heads off.

Besides the Suh/Lauvao matchup we will also have to keep an eye on the rookie Pinkston, taking the place of the injured Steinbach at LG, versus former Brown, Corey Williams.

Browns update: The installation of the West Coast offense remains the club's evident top priority. A few wrinkles turned up at practice this week and may be rolled out in the game. Coach Pat Shurmur intends to play his starters either the whole first half or for approximately 20 to 25 plays. The offense has seen Jordan Norwood claim the slot receiver role. Montario Hardesty may get some playing time after practicing three days in a row. Rookie Jason Pinkston could start for injured Eric Steinbach at left guard. Defensively, the No. 1 unit is missing linebackers Scott Fujita and Chris Gocong, free safety Usama Young and possibly strong safety T.J. Ward.

I'm glad Norwood is coming on because he adds much needed speed to this team but I still want to see plenty of Greg Little. I love me some Greg Little.

I'll be interested to see if Hardesty gets any reps. Didn't expect him to play. Was figuring third preseason game at the earliest.
