This is true. I also felt Berry was better before the draft, and obviously the Chiefs did too or else they wouldn't have taken him.

Well they do play different positions and as noted earlier Ward had an extensive injury history in college. Ward plays SS where Berry is a FS. I'm not familiar with their depth chart well enough but perhaps they already had a solid player at the SS position, or felt that FS was a bigger need/worthy of a top 5 pick. Or they could have thought Ward was a better player but since he's had so many injuries they dropped his stock because they were afraid of him being injured and not on the field. There are many reasons other than the Chiefs thinking he's better.

Well first off, Berry is a SS lol http://www.kcchiefs.com/team/depth-chart.html
In all reality, now that they've both established themselves as starters and lynchpins of their respective defenses for years to come, it doesn't really matter who was drafted where because both players were really really good last year and will probably anchor the SS position for the AFC Pro Bowl roster for what is hopefully many years to come.SS Eric Berry

I really wanted Berry, I think he would have been great for the Browns defense, but I am also happy with the fact the Browns were able to get Ward and Haden.
I think i would take Haden/Ward > Berry.
I think i would take Haden/Ward > Berry.

Completely agree with this whole post. The Haden/Ward combo IMO is better than pretty much every other combo we could have taken at those picks.

Hmm interesting. I'm surprised by that. You would think with his athleticism he would be a FS. I recall them even saying that he could transition to CB because of his cover ability.

I thought he was a FS too, for the same reason. I didn't know he was the SS until I looked at the depth chart.
BTW, I'm really glad the Browns game is on NFL network, otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch it live.

Interested to see how the 1st string D looks against the defending Champs! Mainly the front 7.

That and I want to see if McCoy can actually move this offense. It IS only a preseason game but Dom Capers isn't shy about blitzing the Hell out of teams. May be an early test for the O-Line, especially the right side.

I'm sure they will be sending the house on McCoy and hope to see if he can handle the pressure or cave.

That's not the typical protocol for a preseason game though. Teams usually don't want to "show their cards" to potential upcoming/regular season opponents so they keep their defenses pretty vanilla. I'll be interested to see if Capers goes against this grain.

I think you're likely to see more teams "showing their cards" because of the condensed offseason. I've noticed in some of the other games, so far, teams have really blitzed quite a bit surprisingly. I'm eager to see what the young guys who are "having big camps" can do. . . Buster Skrine, Phil Taylor, JaBaal Sheard...etc. But I'm really eager to see Jarrett Brown's 'big arm'.

If anything good is gonna come out of this, it's that the front office is likely to have to make a move for a WR if injuries keep up.

Really wanted to see Mitchell, Hardesty, and Young. Hopefully Mitchell doesn't miss significant time.

It's on NFL network if you didn't know.
If not, I use www.chanfeed.com (formerly atdhe.com), and if that doesn't work p2pfire.com is normally my last working resort.

Thanks bud.
I have TWC and they don't carry the NFL Network.
