It's kind of funny because wasn't Bo's office in the AD Department during Lloyd's tenure? I remember someone saying how stressful Carr said it was having the old coach/old boss sitting down the hall from you every day. Carr will be doing the same thing.

I understand why this would be frustrating/stressful. I just don't get why you'd allow this to happen.

He spent 2 days with Miles and didn't ask him if he wanted the job?? FIRE the LIAR for wasting all of that money.

Did it ever occur to you that he spent 2 days with Miles and decided he wasn't the man for the job?

Yes and no. It was speculated all along that Hoke was Brandon's first choice. I think he legitimately went after Harbaugh, but it fell apart on both sides. After that I believe Hoke is who he wanted. Les Miles was never a serious consideration.

He interviewed him. But he didn't want him. I think he would have received a lot of criticism had he not at least talked to him, from admins, alum and fans. Just because you interview someone doesn't mean you have to offer them the job.

I completely agree, if DB had not at least made the attempt to go after JH and LM, the fans and alums would have been all over Hoke from the moment he was announced. By parading down to LA, DB at least is able to deflect some of that criticism directed to Hoke. I was never a RR fan from the first moment UM hired him, but I will concede that the pressure he was under from day one was immense because the fans, alums and supporters really wanted LM back then and thought they had a chance to get him if Bill Martin hadn't dropped the ball.

to say he was never seriously considered is not true, if he was interviewed for the job. last time I checked, Miles isn't black, and there's no Rooney Rule in CFB.

Well, according to this article, sounds like he was offered.

Webfire... any early news on recruiting reaction from commited and uncommited players? I saw Denard got a good cheer at the bball game yesterday too. What are michigans prospects looking like to finish this class?

I think it's still too early to tell. Dallas Crawford and Kris Frost are out for sure, which is too bad. Chris Bryant is starting to look promising. Haven't heard much other than that.

Sounds like Denard is staying. But that isn't a sure thing yet.

I really think the big thing with Les Miles was his age. He's almost 60 years old now. Do you really want to start over at that age or want someone to start the program over for you? Is Les going to still be coaching in 10 years? Would he have been at Michigan for 10+ years? That's why I think Brandon didn't want him. I think Brandon wanted something longer term.

Hoke is 52, FWIW.

To say Michigan didn't get their 3rd choice (or let me rephrase that... to say Michigan got anything better than their 3rd choice) is an absolute JOKE! Everyone knows Harbaugh was UM's #1 guy... and everyone knows Miles was #2. There is no way on god's green earth Hoke was #2, let alone #1.

It's obvious you guys don't know what is going on in the Michigan athletic department.

And I don't mean that disrespectfully. I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't follow Michigan very closely to know some of the shit that goes on there. Hell, even the casual Michigan fan doesn't know. But there are factions, and they are strong.

No denying there are "factions," and I'm sure they're "strong," but still... there is no denying UM got there "3rd choice".

This. And this stuff is why I haven't chimed in too much. True fans like you and I know how everything went down and what to expect. People will think what they want, regardless.

I think if you look at "best" available and what the fans wanted, then yes, you are correct.

FYI...Tate Forcier's dad flew into Ann Arbor to try to figure out what is going on. There are rumors that he flunked out and is seeking transfer, and there is also rumor that he is enrolling in community college to get to good standing, and will re-enroll.

Either way, Tate's dad says he does not want to leave, and they have not explored any other schools. Sounds like he knows (or is telling) as much as we know.

Hoke is passionate and shows a real confident, albeit borderline arrogant side..time will tell, but IMO, it's a very good hire

Just in from Rivals..

Auburn is "probably finished" with Kris Frost.. that's big for Michigan. This kid could be a heck of a LB or S

Yeah but he is looking at UNC now. Still not showing much interest in Michigan.
