down 8 to syracuse and they score a touchdown. ksu player does a quick salute to someone in the crowd and draws a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which was enforced on the try. ksu had to attempt the two point conversion from the 18 yard line, which they did not get. about as bad as unsportsmanlike conduct as osu getting called for excessive celebration for doing the "O" with their hands

The rule states that you cannot bring attention to yourself. According to the rule its unsportsmanlike. However its the dumbest rule in all of sports. Why not be allowed to celebrate a big play like that?

That field was a disgrace. I wouldn't play in that bowl game if invited ever again.

Technically, names on your jersey calls attention to yourself. Everybody in the stadium knows he just scored a touchdown. I doubt his action is going to produce any more attention on him than that. Choreographed (i.e., multiple players or a staged routine), I can understand. A salute, finger to the sky, hands on hips looking at the crowd, etc, nah. That's not excessive by any means.

Not excessive at all. Welcome to the world of Big 10 officiating, boys. The Tennessee Vol QB does the throat slashing after throwing a TD pass in OT and gets.......nothing.
