Strength of schedule. Look at Ursuline & Mooney. Every year they play Ohio playoff situated teams during the regular season. Compare schools who does not. Many programs knock themselves out by playing a regular season murders row. The idea is to make the playoffs and some schools back in and others prove their mantles thoughout the regular season.
I travel thoughout the country and have seen schools with multiple division one players every year. The win loss records do not indicate the schedule competition neccessarily. We oldtimmers say, " Run with the big dogs or stay on the porch."
Its interesting seeing highschools travel over a thousand miles to play another nationally known school. ESPN usually broadcast these games. There are even a few highschools in America traveling to Europe for games. Interesting and shows how big the highshool programs have become.
The top 100 teams listed by sports organizations have at least half a dozen Ohio teams. Not bad considering there are fifty states. The Sun Belt states have the population and lions share of the talent and still growing. We are losing population and talent. Now we see more and more sportswriters crowning highschool champions south of the Mason Dixon. Just an observation.
