There was someone on here who was outraged when he didn't win the Biletnikoff last year. That made for some interesting conversation.

WR from BGSU. Graduated last year. He set a few records for career receptions, maybe receptions in a season and someone was all over him saying he should have been an All American, win the Biletnikoff over Golden Tate, and would be a solid NFL WR for years to come. I, along with many others, argued that he nothing more than a system guy and only put up numbers because of the team he was on and who they played against. If I recall correctly, he didn't even get invited to the NFL combine and wasn't drafted.

Just looked it up, he set the all divisions record for receptions in a season last year with 155 and had 16 TDs. He had 22 catches for 278 yards and 3 TDs in a game against Kent State which left him 1 short of the record for receptions in a single game.

just searched for freddie barnes on this site and the only thing that popped up was this thread. searched for golden too and the earliest i found was the maple bars.

On a non related note, were you driving to Columbus on 23 yesterday, athlete? I only ask because I was and was following a car with Notre Dame stickers on the back window and there was also an OSU Law sticker.

Nope that wasn't me lol. There are ten ND kids in my section of 75 students so it could've been one of them haha

Yeah that was one of the threads, but there were a few for the Biletnikoff Award too when things got pretty heated. Good read, and I think I was correct.

haha that is for sure part of it but I seem to think there was more talk about it. Either way, I can see why no one could find that thread initially, we were trying to search for his correct name and that thread has it spelled wrong.

not the one i'm talking about but that definitely suffices lol. I'm a bit of a homer in the argument, being Golden's friend, but Barnes wasn't as good as some said apparently lol
