Texas manhandled Michigan State in East Lansing. Illinois lost to Missouri in St. Louis. It's great to see good teams play good teams, but the Big 10 got a blackeye tonight.

Buckeyes keep winning it will not matter to them. These out of conference games will affect the bubble teams of the Big Ten when it comes tournament time. I watched a little of the Sparty game in the first half before switching it over to the Boise St. game and they were lucky at half it wasn't a lot worse. They looked terrible.

Its 2 losses, to 2 good teams. Its not like they went out and lost to Horizon league teams, dont think it makes the big 10 look bad

Who cares? Does Kentucky think how good the SEC looks? Does Kansas think how good the Big 12 looks? Why should OSU care?

That's the great part about winning championships in college basketball....you do it on the court.

So, MSU loses to a good Texas team (who just beat UNC) and 20th some ranked Illinois loses to 10th ranked Mizzou, yet it gives the Big Ten a black eye?

What kind of logic are you using again?

I can't remember really any good wins by the Big 10 since the ACC challenge. These games don't matter much, but they do matter. OSU hasn't really played anyone great OOC and now they may not play a top 10 team in conference. Unless they only lose a couple games they will struggle to get a #1 seed.

These losses will hurt the Big 10 bubble teams the most.

Yea it is blackeye when MSU had won 62 straight at home versus non-conference opponents and the Spartans were dominated by Texas. Did you watch the game?

Illinois loss was less of blackeye, but losing a marquee matchup isn't good for the Big 10. Missouri had lost it's only other big game to Georgetown and Illinois is now on a 2 game losing streak having lost to Illinois-Chicago Circle 5 days ago.

BTW, Texas has now beaten both MSU and Illinois, while losing to Pitt and USC.

As a KU fan, I literally could care less if Colorado wins OOC games, or Texas Tech, Or Baylor, etc.

Don't know why OSU fans would care about other Big Ten OOC games

I don't think Illinois and Michigan State are going to be hurting for quality wins come tournament time. The Big Ten can't win every big time OOC game they play this year. Just happens 2 losses came on the same night.

Because if they constantly lose, your win over them come conference play means absolutely nothing

That Mizzou Illinois game was way closer than the score showed. Weber even got a T towards the end to kind of seal the deal. Not exactly a bad night for the Big Ten although it would have been nice to see MSU be a little more competitive. Texas never really looked challenged.

AH....but if a team "constantly" wins, the losses your opponents have mean absolutely nothing.

People only care about the conference if their team sucks. Ohio State is good, who cares about the rest of the Big 10.

I disagree. I am a big OSU fan and I care about the Big 10, especially when it comes to football and basketball. The national perception of the league has a huge impact on the national perception of tOSU. I pray for a turnaround in Ann Arbor.

I haven't heard one "expert" say something bad about osu because of thier schedule or anything else. Having sully playing so well gives us a great national perception... At least with the media. Most the media loves osu's bball team this season.

The point was, both OSU and KU are locks for the NCAA tournament, and will both be high seeds...who cares if your conference wins their OOC games?

Not a bandwagon fan at all. KU basketball and OSU football were always on TV when I was growing up and choosing my favorite teams. My dad and older brother always rooted for OSU, the Browns, and the Reds. So naturally I rooted for them. But when Kansas basketball was on TV twice a week, and OSU basketball wasn't; i'm going to start liking KU. I loved everything about Ku and I eventually found myself rooting for them. I still hope OSu basketball succeeds, I am just simply not passionate about them; so why pretend like I like them when I find myself actively cheering for KU?

Where do you live?? I live in central Ohio and OSU's games have almost always televised.

Most the media loves osu's bball team this season.
So what!!! Visit a few other message boards and see what other fans think about OSU's daunting schedule.

I don't agree with a lot of what S&L says, but he is right in regards to OSU broadcasts up to about the Greg Oden years. Since you live in Central Ohio you would get all the OSU games, but on a national scale OSU was not televised that often. KU on the other hand was (along with Duke who as Pete Gillen infamously said on The Jim Rome Show "Was on TV more than Leave it to Beav--uh").

Grew up in Michigan, Indiana, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati.

So yes, OSU was not on...rarely ever.
