My guess is that the NCAA isn't involved because OSU is investigating the issue and the NCAA likes to lets schools do that and self-report if they find any violations. Besides, this would be a minor violation, not something that is going to make people sit out a whole season or anything.

I highly doubt that anything comes of this because, as others have stated, it would be hard to prove that they didn't pay for it (they can say they used cash and weren't issue a receipt). If they did exchange autographs for tatoos then it definitely is a violation. Also, saying that they paid $1 isn't going to fly with the NCAA. You aren't allowed to receive any "special benefit" because you are an athlete, and while tatoo artists can set their own prices, the NCAA would determine that they only got the tatoo for $1 because they are football players and since that is far lower than fair market value it would still be a violation and they would need to make up the difference of whatever the NCAA determines to be market value.

Similar to the time he checked my profile to see my last log in when we were posting on the same thread so he could "make sure I didn't see the post and ignore it".

You are still on that kick too? Doesnt it ever get old?

It was breaking news on FOX 28, so I am guessing you can get it from any of the Columbus News Stations

They just discussed it on 1st Take. Marcellus Wiley (think that's how you spell his name) thinks it shouldn't be an issue to begin with, and Skip disagreed saying they should be penalized (if something did happen)

So if it's determined that the OSU players only paid a #1 or whatever for tatoos, obviously that's below market value. If they go back and pay the a more fair price, is that problem solved? Or will they still be penalized?

The only way I see this thing getting really bad is when it comes to the nature of the equipment or memorabilia being signed. I don't know how feasible it is (maybe lep can answer since he's been in the locker room), but my fear is that players were doing something stupid like stealing game used equipment and apparel and signing them in exchange for the art work. When you get into that kind of stuff, especially with how a lot of that is already personalized with names and numbers, that definitely leaves a trail.

USC suspended a player for getting a golf cart ride to class. He had to pay $5 to a charity and missed a game. It was an agent who gave him the ride, but still.

Players should just say that their dads negotiated the free tatoos without their knowledge. Worked for Cam Newton

Already mentioned. I posted this earlier but I don't think it was very credible. Seems like it's just a random list of players with visible tattoos.

Rizzo and company were discussing this about 20 minutes ago and they seemed to be pretty concerned over the same thing you mentioned.

If anyone would actually believe vball in what he says, you would lose all credibility. Ive never once pm'ed this ghey-wad. He has been on my ignore list for months and it really bothers him. Cant believe it bothers him that much. Recently I noticed he was on my last people to view my profile. Talking about creepy. Followed me around when I read his posts, still stalking me when Ive ignored him for months.

Must be still checking me out. Here's my profile link
