ESPN covers it...they just don't carry it's games. They dropped it during the strike and it was picked up by Versus network.

ESPN just showed a 30 second clip of the Penguins game like 40 minutes into the broadcast...you know your sport is irrelevant in your country when there is some crazy record streak going on, and ESPN barely covers it.

ESPN had a decent segment about the streak last weekend, but I agree...they don't cover it much. I'd say you see more coverage later into the season, when the NFL is over.

Who gives a shit what ESPN deems "relevant" anyway. Hell if that were the case, Brett Favre would be the most relevant sports figure EVER.

As for the OP, after this weekend its a push between Brady and Sid. Both are are FIRE.

I guess it all comes down to (in the Messi/Sid argument) which sport you deem it harder to score in. Both have scored more goals than games played (Messi at a slightly higher rate) and have a bunch of assists in the span as well (Sid more, but how many more does Messi have if he gets "hockey" assists??)

My main argument for Messi would also be that he dominates the game for nearly the entire game. Sid can only do so for about a 3rd of the game. But at the same time, Sid plays 3 times a week, Messi 1 (sometimes 2). Its a very interesting debate when looking at the different factors.

I think Im starting to come over to the Sid side, maybe its because Barca have been on break so long and I havent seen Messi again for almost 2 weeks...

He is doing it on ice, with near constant motion and contact from 5 opponents. Ever tried playing hockey? I never understood why guys were only on the ice for 90 seconds at a time until I played intramural at OSU(and that as far from an elite level of hockey as you can get). After a minute of back and forth in D league I was looking over at the bench.

Its at toss up between Tom Brady and Sid right now. Brady throwing as many passes as he does and not throwing a pick has my vote right now.
