It's real simple

1. FIRE DABOL, bring in a knowledgable OC
2. Draft offensive talent
3. Keep Mangina as head coach
4. DRAFT OFFENSIVE TALENT

Mangini is far from the problem.
Besides Hillis, this offense is ACC worthy.

I don't think anyone has really said Mangini is the problem. It's the combo of Delhomme/Daboll that makes this offense worse than some high schools.

Hopefully this is a 1:00 game so I can take a nap before the real game.

Why do we keep hearing he is in the hot seat then? Pretty stupid after 2 years to get rid of him when this team is lightyears better than last.

I was more implying that the posters on this thread haven't really said Mangini is the problem. I'm sure there are some that think Mangini should go, but I know I and several others think he's done pretty well so far this year, given the state that the team is in.

I just can't see the Bengals not winning another game this season. They get the W at home in Cincy.

If Colt plays Browns win. If Jake plays Bengals win unless Palmer somehow plays even worse then he has been playing.

The Browns have a chance to win if Colt is able to play.

If Delhomme is the QB, this is another loss.

Let's hope Hillis can hang onto the ball this week.

maybe not the answer but he was the catalyst behind the victories against the saints and the pats...two teams i believe you haven't quite figured out yet

oh and ill save you the time: pittsburgh did beat the browns 28-10, they're also 10-3 and on their "super bowl run," whereas the browns are 5-8 and looking forward to the draft, cleveland's a shithole, etc. also hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa

It will be interesting to see what the Browns do with McCoy going forward. Do they have the confidence in him to give him the reigns and think he can be a capable starter in the NFL? Or do they look at QB's in the draft or free agency?

I think the return thus far is promising on McCoy, though I am still unconvinced. If we have a shot at Luck you dont pass on him.

How would they have a shot at Luck? Trade up? Not sure if that fits Holmgren's plan. I would imagine it would have been easier to move up last year to get Bradford and they didn't seem to pursue that.

Now what if Ryan Mallett is available? I know he has a lot of skeptics, but if he's available is that a pick worth considering? Or how about a Locker or maybe Nick Foles in the second round?

Wonder how many teams ahead of Cleveland will be looking at QB's? I would imagine Carolina, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Minnesota, Tennessee and maybe even Washington. I would doubt Arizona would since they seem to have two rookies they like.

But with all those teams likely considering a QB, I don't think there will be much value in a QB for where the Browns will be drafting.

The only shot we have at Luck is if he returns to Stanford for another year, and the Browns are absolutely terrible next year. In other words, no chance!!

I was using Luck as an axample. Basically meaning that that if you hacve a shot at the best QB prospect, a legit franchise QB (I think Luck is the only one that fits the bill this year) McCoy isn't going to keep you from taking him. McCoy has looked better than expected, promising for sure but I am not ready to bet the franchise on him.

@ Dynasty, I hate Mallet, I think he sucks and will suck in the pros. I wouldn't take him with a 2nd round pick. IMO the only 1st round worthy QBs in this draft are Luck and Locker, not a Newton believer either. Dude as Akali Smith written all over him.

There are a lot of people who don't like Mallett. I'm not in that group, but I do understand the skepticism.

How do you think the Browns get a franchise QB then? Hopefully they won't be drafting in the top 5 anytime soon, and the only way to get a franchise QB is via the draft. Sometimes you have to gamble and hope to get lucky. I think the Browns got lucky with McCoy, however I still think he's a career backup.

Eventually they will need that franchise QB and I just don't see any other way of getting him, other than the draft.

Guys who I would consider franchise QB's in the NFL and how they were acquired:

Drafted:
P. Manning, Rivers, Brady, Schaub, Rodgers, Flacco, Palmer (was considered a franchise QB at one time), Ryan, Bradford, Sanchez (believed to be one), Freeman, Kolb (they traded away McNabb because of him), Roethlisberger, Garrard and Romo

Guys traded for:
Brees (FA), Cutler(traded for two 1st round picks and a 3rd), Vick (unique situation) & Cassel

McNabb, Orton, Campbell and Fitzpatrick are not guys I would probably consider franchise QB's.

So, it's proven that in order to get a franchise QB it comes through the draft, because those guys just don't become available. Sooner or later the Browns need to take a chance on one, unless they can make a deal for Kolb (which I'd prefer).

Jury is still out on McCoy. He could be the guy, but I am not ready to say that yet. I need to see more. He's practicing today and isn't limited so hopefully we see him on Sunday.

Schaub was traded to the Texans from the Falcons.

I don't believe the Browns will necessarily go into the draft looking for a QB, but if one presents itself in the later rounds I could see them taking one.

I can see it now: Holmgren flies down to Mississippi and talks Farve out of retirement.
