You are likely to see more UF students wearing a jersey rather than a tie.

If you were at Vandy or Ole Miss, would you want to show up at halftime, if at all? This whole getting dressed up thing is starting to make sense now.

I went to an SEC school and have been to 10 of the 12 stadiums (haven't been to MSU or Ark).

Florida/LSU/Tennessee students don't dress up, and Kentucky is lucky to have their students show up. There might be a dozen or so people at each of the aforementioned schools that wear a tie - but even they wear a school-related kitsch tie. They are outliers.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I went to 4-5 University of GA games during the 90's and I agree.

I've also been to several games down there at different venues and I've see a lot of them dressed up. I'm just citing from my own experience.

TAA DAAA... absolute evidence that proves my original theory...most "jersey guys" never wore one on the field in actual competition, cuz we damn well know Rocky Kanoot never played the game.

I take it the Swamp wasn't part of your experience, students don't dress up there. Pick out the blue blazers and ties in the following photo:
