I mean, if anyone cares that much they could just go to espn.com or any other cfb website and click on the 'standings' page. It isn't that tough.

Lol this is a complete joke right? Terrible ideas on the logo and then flat out mockery with the names. You knew something weird was up though, you don't get a press conference to announce the names 'north, south, east or west'.

Graham-George Offensive POY (Otto and Eddie)

True, but the reason they had to kind of come up with "leaders" and "legends" is because nothing geography oriented would have worked.

Why would Paterno get it named after him? They have been in the conference since 1993, and they have only won three Big 10 championships haha. Tress should have had it named after him!

I just think that it's dumb that Paterno is on the Big Ten Championship trophy name. I understand putting Stagg on the trophy, but Paterno? I get that he's the winningest coach in college football history, but he's only won the Big Ten three times (Jim Tressel has won it seven times in half as many season in the conference!). If you're going to name it after legendary Big Ten coaches then why not call it the Hayes-Schembechler Championship Trophy? Woody and Bo both won the Big Ten 13 times and Ohio State (35) and Michigan (42) have won the most conference titles of anyone in the conference. I understand that the Coach of the Year award is named for them, but it would have been a much better choice than naming it after JoPa. I'm honestly pissed off that Paterno's name is on the conference championship trophy.

He made it seem like it was the conference's way of saying "See, we aren't totally stuck in the past!" But some of the names are a little peculiar.

Not a fan of the logo or conference names, at all. Horrible, IMO.

I agree, just keep it simple. Someone spent way too much time thinking of a theme and building everything around it and blah blah blah. They probably spend 20 million on some marketing company to come up with all that crap.

I don't mind the naming of everything, but they should have put one name on each trophy to make it simpler. The only exception to this is the Hayes/Schembechler Coach of the Year, but like someone mentioned before, just make it Woody and Bo.

Who cares who's name is on the trophy, as long as you are playing for it then what the hell does it matter.

I dont mind the trophies (most of them) or the Logo at all. The names of the divisions however, are terrible. X and Y, 1 and 2, A and B, ANYTHING is better than Legends and Leaders! How corny, cheesy, tacky, whatever....

Some tweets say the names of the divisions sound like a bad conference that your job sends you to, or the conference rooms at an airport Mariott.

When your division names can be found as the words on those motivational posters, you probably fucked up.

Agreed, and it is likely the same marketing company that billed North Carolina for a basketball uni design that did nothing more than put UNC on the front of the jersey.

I'm disappointed in it. I do like the B1G logo, though. Simple without the TEN. With the TEN, it just looks blocky, stodgy, oversized, etc.

The divisions are depressing. I know they couldn't have named them colors, because if OSU was in the Red Division, and Michigan was in the Blue division, fans/teams would claim it was named after them. Everybody would bitch, no matter what, about which color division they were in. Especially if OSU had to display trophies that were blue, etc. Or Michigan showing red trophies, etc.

As for the trophies... the joint naming thing is overkill. I can accept that on one or two trophies. The Big Ten has a lot of history. But, on it seems like all of them? Stagg Bowl is already used for the D3 title game, so I can see just calling it the Stagg Trophy might seem a little reused. But, do something other than that. And to put Paterno's name on it, while he's STILL COACHING is a joke.

Some of them, like Woody-Schembechler, you have to hyphenate. No way fans would let only one get on that. As for the "Griese-Brees" sounds like a wet fart. Just idiotic. One old guy and one new guy? That's the general setup? Antwaan Randle El gets a trophy named after him? It's just overkill.

like the logo. hate the division names with a passion. I'm dumbfounded with these seasonal award trophies. 1 name please. I'd take anything, but for God's sake, just put 1 fucking name on the damn trophy.

Those division names are going to be met with 95% criticism. It really is hard to believe that if they did a sample poll of public opinion those polled very well.

I always try and reflect the official conference name or how it appears on their logo when typing it on here, so I always type Big Ten, Big XII, and Pac-10, so not I have to type B1G. Dumb. I think I'll stick with Big Ten.
