Allegedly this was below his market value, and he was willing to take it because it was a 2-year deal.

I think Miguel Cairo was a great addition to the 2010 Reds and was a solid performer off the bench. It'll be good to have some consistency in the clubhouse and hopefully another reliable bat off the bench considering our bench will be much younger next year (presumably, with Cabrera and Nix possibly gone, Janish taking the starting role, and Yonder Alonso and Juan Francisco being pinch-hitters).

Aaaaand I don't have to change my avatar.

I'm glad they did this. He is a solid, veteran presence in the clubhouse; and not to mention he can still play the game pretty damn well.

Is there anyone else the Reds are going to re-sign? And are they going to have Gomes/Nix/Heisey in LF again? or just2 of them?

So far, no Nix, so as of right now it will be Gomes (whose option was picked up for 2011) and Heisey.
