Wil the Cavs resemble a NBA team tonight?

Haven't the Cavs played Philly 13 times already this year? Sure seems like it.

BTW: This could be the Cavs last chance to win a game in 2010

Heres the schedule for the rest of the month

vs Chicago
@Houston
@OKC
@Miami
@Indiana
vs New York
Vs Utah
@Atlanta
vs Minny
vs Orlando
@Charlotte

I could easily see them winning the game vs the T-Wolves and they could sneak in a win that they shouldnt (Chrlotte, NY or Indy) at the same time I could see them losing every single one of those games.

Kyrie Irving or Perry Jones here we come

Does anyone still think this is a 35-40 win team? I remember that there was a lot of optimists on here before the season. I will stick with around 25 wins.

I think they can be. I think the loss to the Heat sucked the life out of them. They just look like they dont care anymore. If they are playing this way near the deadline I expect changes to be made

Yeah, I agree. I was listening to Roda the other day and he thinks that their only tradeable piece is AV. He is hoping that someone wants him and is willing to take one of the 30 mill contracts...either Mo or Jamison.

I said a few weeks back that I was going to wait until we weren't beating the Nets, Sixers, etc. anymore before deciding whether or not I thought I was wrong with my pick of 30-35 wins.

Back then I thought I might have undersold the team. Unfortunately now I'm starting to think even 30 might be generous.

That Miami game seems to have taken a major psychological toll on this team. Byron is a veteran coach and I'm hoping he can snap them out of it but based on their performance in the last few games it could be a very long season.

66-54 at the half. No way they should give up that many points in the first half to a team of Philadelphia's caliber.

I thought they'd win around 25. I'm pretty comfortable with that number. I guess it all depends on how much longer they keep some of their trade chips around

Grodt, I was as disappointed in him as I was the team during the Miami game. He sat on his hands and watched it all happen during, then criticized the team after the game. If I were the owner, there would've been an interim HC the next day.

But I was told by hoops that he is the "master of in-game adjustments"!

Stuff like this is probably why the Hornets quit on him. Can't throw your players under the bus like that

You don't fire a coach because of one game. Plus if Gilbert didn't have faith in Byron Scott, then he would not have hired him. And please, please do not bring up the keeping of Mike Brown. Mike Brown was around as long as he was because Bron had Gilbert in his pocket and because of that, Bron got whatever it is he wanted.

What exactly would you have wanted him to do? The Cavs do not have 2 guys that can guard Wade and Bron. There was nothing he could have done to change what happened in that game. Even if he sends someone out there to tackle someone; all that would have done was get the crowd even more fired up. The Heat(even when playing like shit) are heads and shoulders above the Cavs.

i always thought 35 was our ceiling and that's with going full-blast every game with no injuries. realistically, thought it would be between 25 and 30. right now i'd have my doubts if we win 20. i've never seen a team quit in december (which btw might be an 0-fer month in the win column)

I was one of those optimistic fans who thought we could win 35 or more games and sneak into the playoffs.....obviously I was dead wrong!

The way the Cavs are playing right now, it seems like Gilbert has told them to play for the #1 pick in the draft......no way this team should be losing games this bad, no way!

Boobie and Sessions should be starting with Mo and Parker off the bench....Boobie has been the leading scorer so many games and still doesn't get a start.

I think we will see a lot of moves at the trade deadline to clear some cap space for next summer.....

Players that could be moved:
Mo Williams
Antawn Jamison
Anderson Varejao
Anthony Parker

Those two starting at guard would get KILLED of the defensive end.

Every player on the roster should be considered expendable, and I would even include Hickson if the price is right. I know a lot of people are high on him, but he's a role player at his maximum potential. And that's not a knock. He does a lot of things well that can help a team, but this team is 3 years away at least, and by that time, Hickson will probably leave for elsewhere.

I do think someone will want Varejao at the trade deadline. He is a great role player who doesn't need the ball and can provide energy and solid defense. Not sure what kind of a market there is for the others.

If I'm Gilbert, I actually think hard about Greg Oden this off season. Obviously it's a HUGE risk, but I think he needs to gamble on someone and hope that it pays off. Just offer Oden more money than anyone else and hope that being back in Ohio is appealing for Oden and then cross your fingers that he can stay somewhat healthy. If he is healthy he might be a building block. If not, then who cares.
