I see that now. I was naive to think there was more than animosity for him. Obviously there's a different mindset here.
The mindset is that he treated his customers like POS when they realized what a stupid move they had made.

Ha ha. In the thread that I tried out his name, someone posted that they deleted his thread about Natali this morning. About three minutes later, both of our posts are gone.

On a slightly more positive note, you can now say "Free Matt Natali" without a filter. Deletion coming soon, I'm sure.

I've never had any interaction with him, so I've got no ill will towards him.

I do question the future of JJHuddle, but only very briefly, as no matter what the future is, I'll likely still never go back to even check it out.

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Geez, I only suggested that Matt Natali is now free.

I've never interacted with Natali, so whether he's a good guy or not, I've not a clue. I do know that:

1. He announced a big change with three days warning.
2. Threads and posts critical of the change were mass-deleted. When he's the main guy promoting the change (Frantz got into the action, but Natali was the first guy coming to the defense), regardless of the facts of the situation, he's going to look like the guy behind this.
3. People got banned constantly for anything under the sun. Some deserved it, some seemingly got banned just for being on this site or saying something here or elsewhere. Once again, since he was a mouthpiece for the change, that makes him look like a head guy behind what became a "one word against this AND YOU'RE OUT!" zero-tolerance banfest.

The "different mindset" you speak of, at least to me can be summed up as: "They tried to ram something down everyone's throat than next-to-nobody wanted. He was a big part of that, at least vocally. It's all crashing down on them and particularly him. Good."

Clearly the ship continues to sink.

I laugh at the morons that paid 12 bucks. There are 7 days worth of threads on the STI forum.

It was not my intent to kick a guy when he is down. Unfortunately, many on here are more than willing to do just that, and to those who do, just remember that your day may come just as swiftly as his did.

It's hard telling why he no longer works there. We can all conjure up our own imaginary reasons why.

What I do know is that Matt is personally a great guy. If/when I see him, he always has a grin and is a fun guy to talk to.

For whatever reason he left, it's sad to see him go, especially at this time of year with the holidays and all. I hope he lands on his feet and I wish him well and good luck.

2nd this. I know a whole lot of people are pissed off about the way the changes at the Huddle were handled but seriously guys? I know where he lives...you guys want to take a lynch mob over there, too?

I know that Matt almost never had anything to do with stuff being deleted or people being banned.

All of you should know by now who leads the charge on both counts.

Matt was the one that put a stop to all that on several occasions.

The suspect would lay low for a little bit then get hardcore with it again.

Matt also ordered the banned list except for a few names to be emptied at least twice over the past 2 years or so.

Not here to take up for him, just stating the facts that I know are true.

I know that I PM'd Natali several times w/ valid questions about the change over, I never received one response. I emailed him after my ban, just to find out why. Again, no response. He deserves every bit of criticism he's received in this thread. If you're gonna be a tough guy, at least man up w/ some answers.

It's also his and Eric's fault that they couldn't control JJ.

Unfortunately one of the worst things they did was allow him to stay on as terms of the buyout.

I stopped posting over there the night it stopped being a free posting site.

Name me one mod, owner, administrator that gave a damn. (not that I expected it in any way, just saying)

So Matt N. is out. I don't give a damn. He may have moved on to better work on his own for all I care.

It just goes to show that anybody can be "out" for any reason under the sun.
People have been banned over there for the simplest reasons. Some deserved some not. Some just for having the <gasp> audacity for posting on this site.

So, no, I wouldn't expect too much compassion, empathy or good-natured feelings from too many people. Sure, some people are gloating in the fact. But I would bet that most are just like me... indifferent.

What were they supposed to do, kick his ass?

They'd get him under control then after a short time he'd be back at it.

As I said, they sealed their own fate in whatever terms they set with him in the buyout.

I'm guessing they had no way to just release him, otherwise I am sure they would have.

They should have kicked his ass though :D
