Hopefully this team doesn't mess things up like 2 years ago and win some games at the end of the season and have to settle on a guy like Andre Smith again. Luckily there wasn't a ton of talent in that draft they missed out on.

The Panthers, Lions, Broncos won't take a QB. Bengals have the tiebreaker over the Bills since they lost to them. The Cardinals have the tiebreaker over the Bengals since they have an easier schedule. Those would be the only teams that will take a QB. If the Bengals win 1 more they just need both the Bills and Cardinals to win 1 more also. Root for the Bills this weekend against Cleveland, that is their best shot.

I want Andrew Luck (and Jim Harbaugh) but it seems about 50/50 with Bengals fans between him and Mallett. I think Mallett has a higher upside but I love the mobility and accuracy of Luck. I also think Luck is a better fit with Shipley and Gresham and the quick/ intermediate routes.

Unfortunately Mike Brown will probably draft a wide receiver to save money.

One other problem would be in Carolina trades the top pick to someone like Buffalo who really needs at QB.

I would be happy with either of the two. Now in a perfect world, Mike Brown would fire Marvin Lewis, and in hiring a new coach allow them to draft whom they please that will best fit their system, however, there is a better chance that hell freezes over.

I wouldn't count out Carolina for a QB. The team doesn't seem sold on Clausen and Luck may be too good to pass up. Plus with the fact that they need a new coach one option they are looking at is a Harbaugh/Luck combination. I didn't know it but the local paper said Harbaugh has some connections to the owner of the Panthers and some of the Front Office so they may try to throw a lot of money at him.

I would hate to see Luck in a bengals uniform as I think he'll be legit, the QB I've liked the most in the draft since Phillip Rivers. Luck's only flaw IMO is on the deep ball, as it flutters, and he is inaccurrate with it. He's got the arm, to throw it deep but thats what he needs to work on the most.

^^ as a Browns fan, that's what we're hoping management thinks as well! ( the part about keeping Palmer that is; please leave Jones on the board on the rare case that he might fall to us)

I was as big a Palmer lover as anybody, and I had defended him all along, but he's done. I hate to say it. He just isn't a good QB anymore.

Aren't I correct in assuming that there will be a rookie pay-scale once the new collective bargaining agreement is struck and nobody will be getting Sam Bradford money anymore?

In which case, even Mike Brown could afford a top QB.

I'm hoping we also cut bait with T.O. and Ocho Cinco. I defended Ocho in years past because we had a halfeay decent team. But obviously it is time to rebuild and I don't want him messing with Andrew Luck at all if they draft him.

Draft Luck, get rid of T.O.,Ocho, and Palmer and then hire Mike Zimmer as the head coach and I'll be happy. With the rest of the draft picks they need to concentrate on rebuilding the WR position, O-line, and safety position

With a potential lockout coming, I don't think it is a guarantee that Luck will declare for the draft.

Luck, mallet, green, ot out of wisky. I would really like a safety but I don't think there is one worthy of that high of a pick

Luck over Mallet but either one won't make an immediate difference. Coach and Front Office changes needed desperately.

Are the Bengals the NFL's biggest disapointment this year? I say yes definitely considering the fall from last year.

Quarterback.......Palmer is done in 2 years for sure. Use the pick to let him understudy for a year or two and then ready. After that, Line.......offense or defense. Besides quarterback you have to build your team inside out.

That's how I feel too. I'd go QB, OL, DL the first 3 picks. I wouldn't even consider a WR this draft, way too many other holes. They proved this year you can get a productive WR very cheap in free agency.

The understudy doesn't work. You draft a QB with a top 5 pick, he starts from day one. So yes, if the Bengals take Luck or Mallett, that's fine, but Palmer has to be gone.

So I'd support that move, but they aren't gonna draft a QB in the top 3, pay him and Carson Palmer and have the new guy sit another year or two. Look at Flacco, Bradford, Ryan, Sanchez, etc...they come right in and play and their teams got better right when they took the field. I don't see the Bengals necessarily getting better as a team if you took Ryan Mallett right now and replaced Carson Palmer with him.

That definitely seems like the new way to develop a QB (throwing them to the wolves) but a few years before that the Carson Palmer method was pretty prevalent (drafting a QB and sitting him for a season). I think the decision depends largely on the particular guy. Some guys are ready sooner than others. You shouldn't throw a rookie QB to the wolves just because the Rams did it with Bradford.

The understudy method has also worked out pretty well for Aaron Rodgers. Fact of the matter is, if the guy is mean to be a good quarterback he is going to become a good qb either way.

Well with the classy/intelligent/high character guys the Bengals roster is full of...I would go with Cam Newton with their #1 pick...just hope his dad doesn't want a contract too!

According to those two wideouts before the season they should be getting tuned up for the playoffs.....I knew they were going to flop before the season started and everybody picked Pittsburgh 3rd behind those pretendors and Baltimore ..Thanks everybody ...
