You mean how UC is 1-2 against BCS conference opponents in bowl games?

Its all cyclical, The BE doesn't have the worst BCS record among the BCS conferences, that would belong to the ACC. However the BE is the only one who catches shit year in and year out. Its really getting old.
goosebumps;588713 wrote:I agree, it does make the conference look bad, thats why I asked about the Big Ten, since their representative lost by the same margin a few years back.
LJ;588715 wrote:Undefeated 2008- lose big in BCS game against ACC opponent
Undefeated 2009- Lose HUGE in BCS game to SEC #2
Conference champ 2010- 8-4 and only ranked because they won their conference. The BE has gone to absolute junk since RR left WVU. There is no way around it.
A well educated fan like yourself should know that UC wasn't undefeated after the 2008 season. They already had two losses (UConn and Oklahoma).LJ;588715 wrote:Undefeated 2008- lose big in BCS game against ACC opponent

Here are some other numbers for you....
2006 undefeated--- Lose huge to a 1 loss SEC school
2007 one loss--- lose huge to a 2 loss SEC school
2008 2 losses--- lose a close one to Big 12
2009--- They looked good and beat a good Oregon team
So three years in a row the Big Ten champ lost their BCS bowl game.
Yeah ok. TCU's schedule compared to Wisconsin's is a joke. What's TCU's big signature win? An overrated Utah team? Or a 5-7 Oregon St. team? Wisconsin's signature win is over an 11-1 BCS bound team and reigning Rose Bowl Champs. I'd say that's legit, not too mention that they are playing some of the best football in the country right now.Tobias Fünke;588129 wrote:
Wisconsin has the potential to be in for a rude awakening. Don't get me wrong I think they'll pound the living shit out of TCU's defensive interior, but Wisconsin's big win of the season is? Oh that's right, beating an Ohio State team that also hasn't been anyone. The true of the matter is we don't know how good anyone in the Big Ten is (and to a larger extent the country if you want to get crazy with that train of thought haha).
I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't wager "a large amount of money" on fickle collegiate players, especially a team that really hasn't been tested away from Madison.
I think the probability of the Big 10 having another 2 BCS winners this year is VERY good.lhslep134;588742 wrote:The Big Ten DID look bad, but it wasn't a recurring thing, and they had 2 BCS winners last year, and could have another 2 this year.
goosebumps;588753 wrote:^^^its been awhile, Last year UC would have been there if it werent' for 5 teams going undefeated. WVU would have been there a few years back but got upset by PITT the last game of the year. Louisville would have been there had they not gotten upset in the last week. Its harder for a team to go undefeated in a round robbin conference than a conference where you don't play everyone.

This year they were awful, and as far as talent they are the weakest of the 6 BCS conferences every year, but every year they are also better than any of the mid major conferences (except for this year). The BCS isn't in the business of putting highly ranked teams in the Fiesta Bowl. It exists to put #1 and #2 in a game, and protect the interests of their bowls and participating conferences, one of which is the Big East.
