Northwestern is a tournament team. Ga Tech is probably not.

The ACC isn't bad at all. They have some young teams, but they are still a top 3 conference this year. The Big Ten is just brutally tough this year.

I think they will finish 3rd behind OSU and Sparty. Especially when they get the 2 starters back.

Not totally sure I agree with this statement. Outside of Duke, who does the ACC really have? I'd say the Big Ten, Big 12, and Big East are better than the ACC. Could the ACC break into the top 3? Sure. But as it stands right now, I don't see the conference as a whole being up their with the 3 I listed.Cleveland Buck;584255 wrote:The ACC isn't bad at all. Ill and Wisky could have something to say about that.

True.
I'm still a little skeptical on Wisky, but it's Wisky. So they will be there obviously. And Illinois could make a run, but I think they will fade a little.

When is the last time the ACC had ONE team ranked? Has it ever happened? They tried and tried to rank UNC but they just aren't good, again this year.
And the Big Ten, according to many, is the best its been in many years.
It all adds up, Big 10 better than ACC. Don' know about Big 12 and the Big East's top 12-13 will all be talking NCAA tournament.

Eh, They are pretty good, but Illinois is better and deeper. Purdue has 2 AA. Wisconsin wont lose games it should win, something Minny will do.
Ill put them at 5th as their best finish. Still not convinced it will be anything better than 6th behind:
MSU
OSU
Illinois
Wisky
Purdue

I couldn't tell you. I think Virginia Tech is up there. They have lost to 3 very good teams, but they can play. Carolina obviously has talent. They just need to make a change at the point and get better playing together. They have several teams that are good teams that are young and inconsistent like Boston College, Clemson, N.C. State, etc. Those aren't bad teams, you just don't know what you are going to get from them each night. Just because the league isn't top heavy doesn't mean it is bad.

While the Big Ten is very good this year, this is the worst the ACC has looked in a long time. I just didnt see a whole lot of talent out on the courts and a lot of bad teams.

Will Duke go undefeated in the ACC?
Wake is Division II now. GT continues to slide. I'm still in awe how a program like UNC stinks. It's so bad in the ACC right now that people are saying BC and VT are top 4 ACC squads.
Clemson and Maryland... don't even get me started.

I saw a stat yesterday during the UNC/Illinois game that this was the first time ever in one of the polls(forget which one it was) that there was only 1 ranked ACC team in Nov/Dec.johngrizzly;584304 wrote:When is the last time the ACC had ONE team ranked? I agree that the ACC does have some young teams but right now as a conference they are down and I would certainly put the Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12 ahead of them.

ACC basketball right now is like Big 10 football was a few years ago. Top, at the very top heavy. I guess it cycles man.

The only problem I have with this post is that Northwestern has NEVER, EVER been in the tounament.......and now they're a tournament team in late November? Or were you talking NIT/CBI?

Someone find the ACC's good wins, here's some of the losses
Wake-Stetson, Va Comm, Wintrop
VT- UNLV (not a bad loss)
UVA- Wichita, Washington by 43, Stanford by 20+
UNC- no real bad losses, Vandy by UNC standards is bad, but NO good wins
GT- Kennesaw by 17.....who?
NCST- played 2 decent teams and got ambushed b both, GTown/Wisky
Miami-Rutgers
Maryland-lost to Pitt and Illinois, best win was Charleston by 1.
FSU- no, and I mean No good wins
Clem- Old D and Mich
BC- lost to YALE!

It's over. Big Ten exhibits its power for the second straight year, pounds ACC 6-5.

That seems like an oxymoron.
I don't think there's any doubt that the Big 10 is a tougher conference though.

Just curious...
When was the last time the B10 had a National Champion?
And seriously...pounds? 6-5?

What does that have to do with anything? The Big 10 has been well represented in the tournament in final 4's and Championship game appearances.
2000 MSU won.
Since then, Big 10 teams in the Championship Game:
Indiana 2002
Illinois 2005
Ohio State 2007
Michigan State 2009
The Big 10 is arguably the best conference when it comes to the two biggest sports (Football and Basketball - Mens). To try to knock the Big 10 in either sport is kind of pointless.
Who is comparatively is better when discussing both sports? SEC is football heavy but not so hot on the basketball court. Big East and ACC are both great for basketball but terrible in football. The Big 12 is decent for football but getting weaker and not so great for basketball all around. The Pac-10 is in a down cycle for football and also for basketball recently.
Besides, the Big 10 has now beat the ACC the past two years... no reason to hate.

That wasnt the overall question. It was which conference was better THIS year!! Ill give you a point for trolling (which according to you, IS taking a topic off subject) Now you see how stupid your basement thing looks? And you are the one to judge us on trolling?

I'm not hating.
The B10 is tough, we all know that. And yes they have won the challenge 2 years in a row. But some on here are acting like the B10 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This was the 12th year of the challenge. And the B10 has won it twice.
I'm not trying to disregard what the B10 did this year, but it's not like they won it 8-3 or something like that, it was 6-5. With a few games that could have easily went the other way.

The subject is the ACC vs B10.
You're really reaching there.
