Kicks off today.

Match up for Monday:

Virginia @ Minnesota

Match ups for Tuesday:

Iowa @ Wake Forest
Georgia Tech @ Northwestern
Ohio State @ Florida State
Michigan @ Clemson
UNC @ Illinois

Match ups for Wednesday:

Indiana @ Boston College
NC State @ Wisconsin
Purdue @ VA Tech
Maryland @ Penn St.
Michigan St. @ Duke

Who takes it this year? IMO, the Big Ten takes it again this year. However, Tuesday is going to be big for the ACC as they could possibly go 4-1 that day.

Should be good though, especially the the finale between Izzo and Coach K.

Hoping the ACC takes it this year but the Big Ten might win again. Honestly Im just hoping UNC beats Illinois thats the only ACC team I care about.

Believe I read where Minny might be without two injured starters for tonite game. ACC also getting 6 of the 11 games on their home court.

B10 wins 6-5. I could see the Duke/MSU, GT/NWstrn and IU/BC game going either way though.

I've got the Big Ten 6-5 as well, same breakdown as Laley. I think the UNC/Illinois and GT/NU games will be the key toss-up wins for the Big Ten to get.

You're right about Minnesota. They'll be missing Al Nolen and Rodney Williams tonight due to injuries. I don't think they'll lose (as Virginia is mediocre at best) but it could affect them, and make the game a lot closer than people expect going in. Losing Nolen will hurt, especially if Devoe Joseph still isn't playing. Williams is athletic as hell but doesn't usually contribute a whole lot when he's on the floor. Their bigs (Sampson, Mbakwe, Iverson, Walker) should still dominate.

I'll take the ACC 6-5 this year there are a few games that could go either way though. Should be another great year for this challenge!

We're underway. Gophers up 14-5 on Virginia early.

Wake Forest and Iowa shouldn't even be broadcast on television. It is insulting to the game of college basketball.

Dude from Virginia caught fire there towards the end of the half to get 'Hoos back into it kind of.

Just figured I would list the channels for each game...

Match up for Monday:

Virginia @ Minnesota - ESPN 2

Match ups for Tuesday:

Iowa @ Wake Forest - ESPN U
Georgia Tech @ Northwestern - ESPN 2
Ohio State @ Florida State - ESPN
Michigan @ Clemson - ESPN 2
UNC @ Illinois - ESPN

Match ups for Wednesday:

Indiana @ Boston College - ESPN U
NC State @ Wisconsin - ESPN 2
Purdue @ VA Tech - ESPN
Maryland@ Penn St. - ESPN 2
Michigan St. @ Duke - ESPN - Toss up. Can't pick it right now

Went ahead and bolded my picks. Carolina is a homer pick for me right now. I really don't see them winning that game, but had to pick them.

Gives me 6 wins for the B10 and only 4 for the ACC. With the Dook/Sparty game up in the air for me.

It would be a huge win for Carolina. They need a confidence boost after the early season struggles, plus they need all the resume building wins they can get OOC because it could be another long ACC season.

Minny looks horrible!!! Not running any offense and not playing much d. Free throw shooting hurting them too.

Gonna be there Wednesday for the Duke MSU matchup. Hopefully it is the match that clinches it for the ACC.

Go Duke.

Damn I have the game on the TV but haven't really been watching. I heard them say there was a 26 point turn around and now Minny is making a run...

If it were legal I'd advocate Tubby beating the shit out of his players tomorrow morning with a switch. Virginia is a bad, bad team and we're making them look like the Harlem Globetrotters. I'm blinded with rage right now.

Wow. UVa with a HUGE win for the ACC. Definitely didn't expect that.

Jesus Minny! I thought that was a gift win for the B10, even without the starters. Virginia is not good and Minny has been very good most of the year. Terrible loss at home.

Big Ten needs to now win the toss-up games without another slip up.

I must say, UVa infused a hint of life into an otherwise dreary late fall evening, especially with regard to games on television. It looks like the ACC, as of now, has the advantage in The Challenge, albeit a very small one. Several games in this year's edition could certainly go either way.

Here's to what will hopefully be an 11-1 upper hand come Wednesday night.

I'm afraid you'll get the one loss you're wanting. Not much optimism in Chapel Hill at the moment.

Iron, in a small degree, I'm let down. I wasn't wishing for a Carolina loss; I was pointing toward the ACC's -- god willing over the next two days -- 11-1 exercise of control over the Big Ten since 1999. You really don't know me very well.

I would never openly predict a UNC loss on (what will naturally become) an in-game thread. I'm more into inverted psychology and witching. :)

Oh no. I will be creating an in game thread so everyone can read our misery.
