#10 - Loren Burkey - Great defensive player. If im not mistaken he started all 4 years
#9 - Dan Stultz - yes a kicker. He was awesome. Didnt he set a record in a game for longest kick and then beat it later in same game?
#8 - Kyle Simmons - explosive and very smart. He could find an open receiver or tuck and run if needed
#7 - Clay Tipton - Not much else to say - his father was legendary and he came to play every game. I specifically remember a game his senior year in Struthers against Thornville Sheridan where he kicked some @ss
#6 - Tim Hiller - Loved his game. Big, mobile, strong QB and had a heck of an arm
#5 - Kyle Domer - never was a big guy but was a heck of a RB. Him and Goodard in backfield was a threat
#4 - Mason Monheim - Enough said. THis kid is a beast on both sides of the ball! A workhorse indeed!
#3 - Jason Haley- He hit people harder than I ever saw. He was all over the place!
#2 - Tom Bolyard - He took a beating and kept on ticking. He was a gamer! He was one of the first players I remember watching as a little one!
#1 - The late Jack Leeder - THis guy was an animal! If you needed a yard he got you 10. If you needed a first town he would get you a touchdown.
Nice topic and should generate a lot of interest and arguments. haha. So hard to compare generations. For one thing, we all know that the older we get the better we were by those that remembered us! haha. I don't think you will ever come up with a consensus. And maybe that's because we have too many great football players. The modern day era players ( since play offs) have had the opportunity to showcase their talent against the best in the state which tends to maybe give more substance to their talents. Tyrone Barnett played for Woody...has to count for something. Chase Hoobler held the record for most tackles in school history until a few games ago. That HAS to count for something when you think of the great defensive players over the years. James Bradley, Renauld Ray, Marcell Denson, Jared Zwick, Thad Tillison, Brent Steiner, Damian Vaughn, Wow that is just off the top of my head. What we have blessed with on the football field is truly amazing.
