Lets reverse the role and say we had to hear about Wooster being in their 22nd playoff appearance, great players, 7 game win streak, state titles, final fours, regional appearances??? I would be ready to burn their city down!!
However, thats what is so special about being a part of the RED RIDER NATION!! People can say all they want about "we don't hate Orrville, we think its great that they represent the County" blah blah blah...
It is what it is...and maybe even the sports editor is tired of covering the Riders and the success of our program, the kids, the community, the coaches, the fans...RTR!!!
I agree there are alot of jealous people outside of orrville over all the success we enjoy. The reporters should still be fair in there reporting, it's a slap in the face to the players and coaches to write such a one sided story. The daily record wrote a story about 10 years ago that mentioned certain area schools with success in certain sports. They mentioned triway for boys basketball and smithville for football, along with west holmes for girls vollyball and wooster for girls basketball. I was shocked no mention of orrville for any sport, last time i checked there were no state champion banners hanging in triway or smithville or wooster. West holmes has a few in girls basketball, at least they should have gotten credit for girls basketball not wooster. My point is there was no mention of orrville for any sport. I'm glad there unbiased writing is still alive and well.
