Are you sure that isn't just the new Budweiser scheme? It matches the overhaul they did to the cans, it would at least make sense to run that for the time being.

I suppose we'll find out in a little over 12 weeks.

I was just missing seeing Junior driving a Budweiser Chevy. If you'll recall, he had much more success in that ride than his current one. Damn bitch wouldn't let him keep the company his daddy said would be his, didn't let him keep his number, didn't let him keep anything. Where's DEI nowadays, Theresa??? Sound moves there...but I digress.

Eh, in all fairness, Jr was quite successful in the 8 car. He did have 17 wins driving the 8. Now the 88 car on the other hand.....

It's for the new Budweiser cans, yes, but it's only a one race thing. Harvick won't get rid of the black paint scheme.

I wonder if things would be different for Jr. right now if he did have control of DEI, as far as running better and winning races. Just seems to me like this whole 'car of tomorrow' thing is what threw him off track. Just seemed like he never could figure that car out. It was like he went downhill and in a hurry once they started driving the new cars.

...and Kyle Busch won the first race in that COT I believe and he's been off to the races with that car since then. Btw idk why but I just hate Harvick

Now had I said this, it would just be me and Jr Nation making excuses for Jr not having many wins. Followed by a comment about how all the drivers had to make the switch, not just Jr, followed by more rants that Jr is never nor will he ever be as good as his daddy, and he will continue to ride out his last name his entire career. All leading up to the infamus comment that the only reason Hendrick went after and continues to keep Jr is for the merch money he is making.

But the thing is, this car put the car more back into the driver's hands. The ones that are successful now, are the ones that can REALLY drive a racecar. ;)

I don't believe I have ever once said anything about Jr. and his dad. Everyone knows Jr. will never be his dad. Hell, there may never be anyone as good as his dad. Jr. himself knows and has admitted that he's no Dale Sr, so what makes the difference if anyone says it? Did his last name help him? Sure, as I said above. But that doesn't many there wasn't still talent there.

Anyone that knows NASCAR knows Rick Hendrick is ALL about winning. That's all he cares about. If you can't win in his cars, you're finding a new ride. Yet, Jr. hasn't won under Hendricks, but, he just signed him to a contract extension. I think that's proof enough that Jr. is making him a killing in merchandising.

Yep. Junior helps bring in the money that helps Jeff and Jimmie win :)

Touche. Hadn't thought of that. Looked it up. Kyles first 3 years, at Hendricks even, in the old car, he saw Vicory Lane only 3 times. In 4 years with the new car, 20 wins.

I think possibly Kyle Busch could be as good as Dale Sr. was...23 wins and he's 26 years old and finished in the top 10 in points every year but once since 2006. He's just kinda got that killer instinct to win too and will do anything for a W

I've said for a long time now that Kyle is the closest thing to Dale Sr that we have on the track right now. Of course, they think I'm nuts, just because they don't want to admit it. They seem to forget, Sr. was once a hated man because he would win at all costs as well, checkers or wreckers.

It always cracks me up because I hear fans talking about how they want the drivers to not be afraid to do anything, say anything no matter how unpopular, and talented as hell. Well, you finally got one in Kyle, and you boo him every chance you get. Although, those boos are starting to turn, slowly, but you can see the difference.

On the track you're probably right. I think people scoff at the comparison because Dale was old school, rough and tough. He had a thick mustache, was a cowboy and wore Wrangler jeans! Kyle is a wimpy punk with a big nose.

Bowyer close to signing with Michael Waltrip Racing for next season to become the driver of a 3rd car. With the news of Bowyer apparently leaving, Childress is looking to probably drop the #33 car from the Sprint Cup and run it in the Nationwide Series for Childress's grandson, Austin Dillon to drive.

"NASCAR is looking into accusations that Paul Menard deliberately brought out a caution in last weekend's Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway to impact the outcome. The investigation is in response to four-time Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon saying there was something "fishy" about the spinout that opened the door for Menard's teammate, Kevin Harvick, to win.

"In light of the suspicions, we're going to look into it and see if there is anything," NASCAR president Mike Helton said Friday at Chicagoland Speedway. "And a lot of it is going to be interpretation. Certainly, it is on us to understand exactly what all we can find as far as facts are concerned."


Helton said he has not heard the mystery channel 2 audio in which Menard allegedly discussed with crew chief Slugger Labbe and Richard Childress Racing executive Mike Dillon whether he should bring out a caution that would allow Harvick to close the gap on Gordon. But Helton said there was nothing during the officiating of the race that brought suspicion.


"We saw no evidence of anything out of the ordinary as far as actions we had to react to," he said. Helton added that such a matter is considered a race procedure and indicated it is unlikely punishment would be forthcoming if evidence was found of wrongdoing.


"I'm not saying we can't," Helton said. "We can. But a guy causing a caution during an event is a race procedure. It's like balls and strikes. You don't go back on Monday and change an out call or foul ball call.
"It doesn't say we can't. If we see something that falls under the broader actions detrimental (to NASCAR) or something, it doesn't mean we can't. But more than likely it is going to be considered a race procedure."


And race procedures, Helton noted, "are unappealable and unchangeable." "The biggest thing is to make sure we get the facts right and police the environment moving forward," Helton said. "We joke about there not being gentleman's agreements anymore in our sport, but I do feel there is a code of ethics among drivers that is alive and well. "I'm not necessarily overwhelmed by the chatter so far."

Lmao...first I heard of the audio. Sounds like a legit complaint. Definitely sounds like team orders to me, especially with them switching to the other channel right before the caution.

Yeah, I just heard them talk about it on ESPN and they played the audio. Jeff has been my favorite driver literally since his very first start so it caught my attention. After listening to the channel it definitely sounds questionable with how much he was telling him about the leaders and asked about the voltage and the "Do not need a caution" earlier, then switching to channel 2. The "29 is leading by three-tenths right now, we're good right now" is the biggest one to me. I used to go to a lot of races and in a normal race I've never ever heard a team tell so much about what's going on with the leaders like that. Hopefully NASCAR can get the audio of their channel 2 and see what happened.

Race postponed til Noon ET Monday. Will be on ESPN.

They thought they may be able to start at 7-8 PM tonight, but rain kept coming in and fucking it up.
