Something needs to change with the #11 team. This is just bad. He hasn't been competitive all year after a year he challenges for the Championship. I dont know if it is Mike Ford or Denny Hamlin.

EVERYONE could have used a Menard spin out today. LOL Kurt benefited though, so I'm not complaining too much. He went from 12th to 6th because of everyone running out of fuel. Kenseth penalized and dropped back to 21st for being pushed to the stripe. Harvick still has the points lead with a 2nd place finish. He didn't need any help.

14 #Winning!
I was stoked when 18 ran out, then cars were running out faster than they could call out the numbers. I don't understand Newman, he took 1.2 seconds more gas than the others on the last stop and still ran out. And what a fluke, Dale Jr. got 3rd. Nascar made a quick call on Kenseth getting pushed, dropping him to first car a lap down was probably where he would have been.

Well, not quite everyone. 88 saved gas like the rest of 'em and did a much better job of it.

FWIW - I watched the race on Racebuddy on nascar.com. It was quite informative, even if the audio/visual didn't line up with the race results (bout a 30 second time diff). I think I'd do it again.

Speedofsand - 88 has always been the luckiest of the lucky, hasn't he? He just gets all the breaks and he just seems to live by them. Nothing to do with his crew chief, owner, nor the talent in his hands...it's all luck. Week in and week out. You can tell by all of his victories.

I'll duck waiting for the Junior bashers to fill the void...

I also enjoy RaceBuddy.

As for Jr, its not bashing, but he wouldn't have finished 3rd if not for everyone running out of fuel. Thats obvious. I already admitted that it helped Kurt .

Terrible. They ran 50 laps at half throttle. What a waste of a race in the Chase.

Couple tweaks for Talladega to try to limit the tandems.

Restrictor plate change will increase horsepower and add 2 or 3 MPH, then a pressure relief valve will be changed to basically make the cars overheat faster.

I have a very bad feeling a Chase race may be marred by mass blown engines due to too much tweaking.

Yeah, I seen that. The Chase is not the time to be fucking with the cars. They should have done that shit during the spring races or at Daytona.

Or never. Take a car, put an engine in it, and race. If it goes too fast, race a smaller track. :D

The Chase ought to be Ten, 12 car, 50 lap "Features".......then everyone will know just who the best driver is.

That would be cool. But then they couldn't get 4 hours of TV ad revenue.

Great idea, but I'd take it a notch further and make it 100 laps. Or 50 laps with a mandatory pit stop. Pit crews and stops are all an important part of the sport just as the racing is.

True, but you could have a 200 or 250 lap race with the other 31 cars to lead up to the 'feature'.

At Chicagoland last weekend, rumors swirled that #33-Clint Bowyer and MWR were ready to announce a deal with Michael Waltrip Racing, but the two parties never made an announcement. Pressed about the issue during an appearance for the upcoming Good Sam Club 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Bowyer seemed close to a decision. "We are getting close to making an announcement," he told News/Talk WSB. "I've had a lot of opportunities and a lot it hinges on funding." Longtime Richard Childress Racing employee and former Director of Competition Scott Miller has left RCR and is highly rumored to have taken a job at MWR - Bowyer's likely destination. When asked whether Miller's departure and destination were linked to his own, Bowyer grinned and said, "I wish him the best and, who knows, maybe I will be working with him someday."

That would be a pretty cool feat to accomplish...

Monday's race at Chicagoland Speedway was only moments old and Kurt Busch was in such a hurry to get away that he didn't stop for interviews. Not to go home after rain extended his stay by a day. To go to a baseball game at Wrigley Field. Outside of racing, the 2004 Sprint Cup champion has no bigger passion than baseball. He spent Monday night on a rooftop beyond the ivy-covered walls at Wrigley watching his beloved Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2. Kurt Busch threw out the first before the Seattle Mariners played the Los Angeles Angels at Safeco Field on Aug. 31. Twenty-four hours later, he was at Toronto's Rogers Centre watching the Blue Jays play the Angels. The Toronto game concluded a 12-year odyssey that has taken Busch to all 30 major-league parks.
