Not at all impressed by the wins over Atlanta, Tampa and Oakland? Two of which they were without their starting QB?

True....the start to their season was better than anyone could have expected. I guess I just expected them to roll teams like Buffalo, Miami and couple others. But in the NFL, winning ugly is just as good as destroying teams.

Atlanta is the only impressive win of those three, but their record is 8-3 and how you get there doesn't matter in the NFL. Clearly they are a good, playoff caliber team.

I was more impressed before Ben came back. I thought Pitt would be scary based on how good they looked the first 4 games. Now, not so much.
EDIT: They are a legit contender. But I expected in the back of my mind to be runaway SB favorites. By scary I was thinking like 13-3 (watch them win-out).

I'd say 35-3 over a scorching hot Oakland offense was impressive. However, I shouldn't be concerned with impressions. They don't matter. Wins do.

That was impressive. But the fact I expected it (I said it would be 33-7) made it seem more normal than it probably should have.
Also the fact I didnt get to see that game. The games Ive seen have been the losses and the "squeak bys".
Its ok though, they are way ahead of the Colts in regards to contending this season. I hate injuries.

very true. I would say that after there hot start without Ben...I just kinda expected them to roll through the season without many bumps in the road.

I agree. I thought once they got Ben back they would be a force. They are a very good team but have looked mediocre at times

If Pittsburgh can get healthy I think they can start winning a bit more comfortably.Laley23;579553 wrote:That was impressive. But the fact I expected it (I said it would be 33-7) made it seem more normal than it probably should have.

Yeah, they haven't been consistently impressive since he returned. I keep thinking he still hasn't hit his stride. We'll see.

What is the deal with Aaron Smith...I just think he is so underrated and very important to what they do?

They're keeping a spot open for him for the postseason if he can possibly return. Definitely underrated.

Last I checked, this was a Brown's thread and we are celebrating playing a crappy game, yet winning!

I had to check the thread title to make sure this was a Browns thread.
Anyway, I was at the game, perfect seats, section 135. My section was getting pretty anxious when the Browns were about to choke it away. Thank god they won, or my 4 hour drive would have been a lot longer.
Also, I don't understand why the stadium doesn't play the replay during challenges, but on the last play before the FG was the guy down before he went out of bounds? We were all pissed, because we thought the game should have ended.

the guy was down inbounds but Carolina ran up to spike the ball and the refs stopped play to review it.

The spike (and whistle for review) were WELL after the 5 seconds would have run out.

Post Game Thoughts
-- Haden was dominant. I don't remember him giving up any catches. He did a great job.
-- Daboll was terrible.
-- Defense was terrible, especially against the run.
-- Cribbs has lost his burst.
-- Vickers, JT and Hillis should be in the pro bowl.
-- FAILhomme sucks.

Yes, he caught the ball, but was touched in bounds by Sheldon Brown. Clock should have kept running, 5 sec left aka GAME OVER. Fucking refs blew it. Once they whistled it dead, its dead and the not reviewable.
Also side note, Torry Holt is the WORST announcer for a game ever.

Jesus Joseph and Mary give Cribbs a break, he was playing on dislocated toes.
Other than that, I agree with COA's list.

Cribbs has lost his burst though, with or without the dislocated toes.

What is the "life expectancy " of an NFL return man?

Not very long. See Dante Hall as another example.
