^^^^There's nothing to prove you fool! The Washington Capitals are in no way, shape or form a team that traps. May they try to squeeze the life out of a game when they're leading late, yes, every team does that but they don't come out and run a trap as a means to win. Again, if you think that they're a primary trapping team like Montreal, then you have no clue!

No one said they play a trap all game like the devils of old, but use the system when necessary. They've been playing a trapping style or modified trap with 1 to 2 forecheckers. it's possible to play a trap of 2-2-1, you just end up with 3 players in the neutral zone not 4. You can still have and aggressive fore check even with one player. It's a trap as long as they isolate the player with the puck coming through the NZ. So yes as stated before, Like That, Auto, CoA, Crosby Show, and me have shown you that you're wrong.

Rock. The past couple of weeks Washington has played a form of a trap when they've gotten a lead on someone. It's an aggressive trap not a Lemaire style trap.
Also, since when the fuck has Atlanta been a trapping team!? This is news to me.

Radio reports are saying Crosby is out until at least March. An earlier report from a canadian website suggested Sid would be lost for the year, Bylsma put that to bed yesterday saying he expects Crosby to be back.

Savard was just shut down for the year because of his second concussion in less than a year. Crosby played with a concussion and then took another hard hit so i'm not sure if that's classified as two concussions or one really bad one, but either way the second hit only made things worse. It wasn't as bad as when booth, savard, or patrice burgeron all got hit, but maybe the two hits on top of each other made it just as severe. Valid point...i have no idea the difference in severity. But you always hear about football players having to "man up!" and play no matter what. Looking forward to tonights game vs my CBJ. After a thrashing to start the 2nd half they have dropped the Wings and Oilers and stand only 8 points out of a playoff spot. We need this one to continue the momentum and some payback from the drubbing you gave us not too long ago in Nationwide.

The only thing I can think of would be how hockey is played at a more consistently fast pace (ie: not the standing around and walking back to the line between plays) where there's more of a chance of getting regular hard hit. Like, you see a few utter blasts in a football game, but in hockey, guys are getting crunched against the glass all the time. It also might have to do with a player's brain's ability to process how to make accurate, pin-point shots and passes on ice. Like to where if a concussed guy still has cobwebs, I could see that hugely effecting his ability to even do routine things on ice. No idea if I'm right, but it just seems that the nature of the game could make concussions have more of an affect on a hockey player's ability to function.

That's a good theory. I also just think it's simply because the NHL is smarter when it comes to protecting their athletes. They also have more room to keep their guys out. In the NFL one loss could be the difference between playing in the playoffs or sitting at home. In the NHL it's normally going to take a streak of losses to lose your playoff spot.
